Discover the timeless beauty of France on this delightful six-day Croisi Europe river cruise, sailing from the heart of Paris along the picturesque River Seine to the charming town of Saint-Mammès before returning to Paris and continuing to the enchanting riverside village of La Roche-Guyon. Combining relaxing cruising with fascinating excursions, this holiday offers the perfect blend of culture, history and breathtaking scenery.

Your journey includes a visit to the magnificent Château de Fontainebleau, one of France's most impressive royal palaces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its lavish interiors and beautiful gardens. Explore the medieval charm of Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne, a delightful town that inspired many famous Impressionist painters, with its historic streets, ancient gateways and riverside setting.

Back in Paris, enjoy a guided walking tour through the French capital, discovering its elegant boulevards, iconic landmarks and hidden corners while soaking up its unique atmosphere. Another highlight is the picturesque village of La Roche-Guyon, nestled beneath dramatic limestone cliffs and overlooked by its magnificent château, offering stunning views across the Seine Valley.

Our itinerary INCLUDES a full excursion package from the boat – Full Board cabins plus all drinks are complimentary including tea & coffee, beer, a large selection of wines from the bar during the day. During meals a selection of fine wines are served. Specific wines and champagne are not included.

 


DAY 1 
After an early start being collected from your local pick up point around 5.00/6.30am, sit back, relax and look forward to the days ahead. There will be a comfort stop with a chance to have some breakfast before to continue to Folkestone and the Eurotunnel terminal. Boarding the late morning crossing and continuing to Paris with comfort stop on route before embarkation at the quay on the Seine in the centre of the city. Introduction of the crew and welcome cocktail in the lounge. Paris by night cruise (subject to water level conditions). The City of Light, the French capital, shines brightly at nightfall. From the river, you will be dazzled by the illuminated Parisian buildings and the play of lights illuminating the city. Dinner on board.


DAY 2    PARIS - MELUN - SAINT MAMMES

Morning cruise towards Melun, where the Seine reveals a panorama transitioning from Paris’s iconic monuments to its peaceful, green banks. Along the way, charming villages, small locks, and forests offer picturesque views.

We have included an optional 4 hour excursion to visit the Château de Fontainebleau. This magnificent Renaissance and classical royal château was home to 34 kings and 2 emperors for nearly eight centuries. With its 1,500 rooms, it is one of the largest and best-furnished castles in France. A testament to the official and private life of monarchs through the centuries, it perfectly embodies the French art of living. Its beautiful gardens, designed by Le Nôtre, invite you to take a leisurely stroll. Return on board in Saint-Mammès. Dancing evening.


DAY 3    SAINT-MAMMES - CORBEIL-ESSONNES

Morning 3 1/2 hour excursion included to Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne, a charming village on the banks of the Seine, and the Château Rosa Bonheur. This medieval town, rich in history, will captivate you with its ramparts, Bourgogne Gate, and Notre-Dame Church, all testaments to its strategic role in the Middle Ages. Favored by the kings of France, it became a hub of art in the 19th century thanks to Alfred Sisley, who immortalized its landscapes. You will wander through its cobbled streets, admire half-timbered houses and picturesque mills. Continue to the Château Rosa Bonheur, the residence of the famous animal painter. There, you will discover her preserved studio, works, and creative world. Surrounded by tranquil gardens, this place offers an immersion into the art and life of this exceptional female artist. Afternoon cruise towards Corbeil-Essonnes, following the Seine’s winding path. Each stop, from locks to picturesque banks, tells a story and invites contemplation.


DAY 4    CORBEIL-ESSONNES - PARIS

Morning cruise towards Paris.

In the afternoon we have included an optional excursion: Île de la Cité. A 3 hour walking tour of Paris’s birthplace. You will admire the majestic Notre-Dame Cathedral interior (3) a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. After the devastating 2019 fire, the cathedral has regained its splendor and continues to embody Paris’s history and soul. You will stroll through the charming streets of the island and reach the Sainte-Chapelle (exterior), famous for its exceptional stained glass windows that narrate biblical scenes. Your visit will end on the Pont Neuf, the city’s oldest bridge, offering a stunning view of the Seine and its romantic quays. Overnight navigation towards La Roche-Guyon


DAY 5    LA ROCHE GUYON

Navigation towards La Roche-Guyon.

Morning excursion included : La Roche-Guyon and its château. Nestled between the Seine and a chalk cliff, La Roche-Guyon is one of France’s most beautiful villages. You will visit its château, a fascinating blend of medieval and classical architecture, with a fortified tower perched on the cliff’s summit, offering a breathtaking view of the valley. You will explore its historical halls and French gardens, designed by Le Nôtre, featuring vegetable plots and medicinal plants. Finally, you will wander through the village’s picturesque streets, steeped in history and bucolic charm. Afternoon cruise towards Paris, sailing along the Seine and its meanders. Under the ever-changing reflections of the sky, the landscapes so dear to Impressionist painters unfold. Arrival in Paris at night. Gala evening.


DAY 6    PARIS 
Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarking at 9.00am and heading home. We board the early afternoon Eurotunnel crossing and should arrive back in the local area around 6.00pm. Returned to your local pick up point.

MENTIONS

For the safety of our passengers, the captain and crew of the boat may decide to modify the navigational itinerary. This cruise is subject to the influence of the tides and arrival times at the ports of call may be modified.

Excursions - 

On exceptional closure days of the Château de Fontainebleau this will be replaced by the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte.

In case of unavailability or celebrations, the visit to Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris will be replaced by a visit to the Sainte-Chapelle.

Depending on availability, the Saint-Mammès stopover may be replaced by Melun.

Alcohol can be dangerous to your health. Please drink in moderation.


Due to the nature of river travel some excursion details may be adjusted or amended. If this occurs there will be no refund for these changes. Although all efforts will be made to run the itinerary as above - some changes may be made due to water levels.
