DAY 3 ROTTERDAM or surroundings to AMSTERDAM or surroundings
In the morning departing by coach to the spectacular Keukenhof Flower Park, accompanied by the ship's tour leader. 4 1/2 hour excursion. Upon arrival, the tour leader will hand you an entrance ticket, and you will be free to stroll at your own pace through this 32-hectare park, winding between the flower beds. Let yourself be enchanted by the colors and scents of tulips, daffodils, jonquils, and other bulb flowers. Don’t miss the pavilion dedicated to orchids or the Japanese-inspired garden… At the back of the park, be sure to visit the windmill dating from 1892, offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding tulip fields. In the 15th century, the present-day Keukenhof estate was a hunting ground. Herbs were also cultivated there for the kitchens of Jacqueline of Bavaria’s castle, hence the name “Keukenhof” (kitchen garden). Lunch included in one of the park’s restaurants. Return to the ship by coach and cruising to Amsterdam or surroundings.
* Depending on the course of the cruise and navigation requirements, lunch may either be taken freely at Keukenhof Park (voucher included) or served on board the ship.
DAY 4 AMSTERDAM or surroundings
Memorable excursion this morning by canal boat. Depart for a sightseeing 2 hour tour of Amsterdam by boat. With your guide, discover the city's fabulous architecture and its tall, gabled houses as you cruise along the water. You will sail on the four major canals that encircle the center of Amsterdam: Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht, and Singel. The Singel River was transformed into a canal in the 14th century to become part of the city's defensive belt. The other three canals were designed at the beginning of the Golden Age to expand the city. Construction began in 1560 and lasted for over a hundred years. Today, the historic center is surrounded by these four semi-circular canals, all running parallel to one another. The layout follows the sun's path so that each house receives sunlight at some point during the day. On a city map, Amsterdam resembles half of a bicycle wheel. Enjoy this moment!
DAY 5
Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarking and heading home. Relax in comfort on board one of our luxury coaches and enjoy the passing scenery. Sensible comfort stops will be taken before we board the early mid afternoon Eurotunnel crossing to Folkestone and should arrive back in the local area around 7.00pm.
