Every Autumn over 3 million visitors travel to Blackpool to see the world-famous Illuminations. The Blackpool Illuminations have been a major part of Blackpool’s attraction since 1879 when they were described as ‘Artificial Sunshine’. This archetypal resort’s other attractions include the Pleasure Beach Fun Park, the Winter Gardens entertainment complex and the iconic Blackpool Tower complete with the (calling all Strictly Fans!) Tower Ballroom! We are based for this holiday at the excellent 3* Doric Hotel on the seafront – quality surroundings, great service, food and entertainment. Fantastic value for money!

DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick point around 8.00am we travel to our hotel with refreshment stops as required, arriving late afternoon at the hotel.
DAY 2
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel to set you up for the day before we depart for todays excursion. We head for the breathtaking Lake District National Park, where autumn begins to paint the fells in warm gold and copper tones. Sit back and relax as scenic roads reveal sparkling lakes, charming villages and panoramic mountain views. Enjoy time to explore the bustling lakeside town of Bowness‑on‑Windermere, browse independent shops, or simply savour a coffee overlooking the water. There’s also the chance to capture memorable photographs of beautiful Windermere. With crisp air, quieter crowds and stunning landscapes, this comfortable coach trip promises a wonderfully refreshing autumn escape.
DAY 3
Excellent excursion today as we are joined by a knowledgeable local guide for a tour of the city of Liverpool. Discover the vibrant maritime city of the city on this enjoyable and informative coach excursion. On arrival, sit back and relax as our knowledgeable local guide joins the coach for a fascinating panoramic tour, bringing the city’s rich history and culture to life. Travel past the world-famous Royal Albert Dock, admire the grandeur of St George’s Hall, and see the iconic waterfront dominated by the Royal Liver Building. Hear stories of Liverpool’s maritime heritage, musical legacy, and sporting pride as you pass landmarks linked to The Beatles and the city’s two famous football clubs.
Following the guided tour, enjoy free time to explore at your own pace. Browse the shops, visit cafés along the dockside, or simply soak up the lively atmosphere of this friendly and characterful city before rejoining the coach for the return journey home.
DAY 4
Day at leisure in Blackpool! The hotel position, on Queen’s Promenade has excellent transport links into town with a Bus Stop directly outside. Or take the heritage tram down to the Pleasure Beach and enjoy all the other attractions of Blackpool – this is the best way to see the Illuminations!
DAY 5
We leave the hotel after breakfast and head home with comfort stops as required before arriving back in the local area late afternoon.

With a superb position on the seafront at the northern section of the town, the Doric offers a very high standard of accommodation coupled with friendly, professional service. A great place to stay for a fun break away - the public areas are excellent with an attractive bar and lounge area plus an indoor swimming pool.
In 2023, the hotel underwent an extensive refurbishment programme, transforming the reception, lounge and bar areas into a modern and stylish space. From the welcoming reception area, through in to the lounge area, enjoy the welcoming, sleek, contemporary design. The bar area has also undergone significant refurbishment, boasting a sophisticated and upscale vibe. Great place for a bit of socialising after a day out exploring. maybe with a cocktail or glass of wine!
