The Victorian Spa town of Harrogate in Yorkshire is a delightful destination for a holiday and has proved to be very popular with our. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and charming historic towns, villages and attractions it is not hard to see why the town has been voted ‘the happiest in Britain’.

With graceful Victorian architecture and beautiful floral public gardens around the town, Harrogate is a great destination for a holiday with a cosmopolitan feel. Dotted with pavement cafes, bars, tearooms (including the famous Betty’s) and fashionable boutiques there is plenty to enjoy during your stay. If you have time, head for the Turkish Baths & Health Spa to enjoy a tour or maybe a treatment in this remarkable building.

DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point around 7.00/8.30am, sit back, relax and enjoy the passing scenery as we travel up to Yorkshire. There will be comfort breaks including an extended stop for lunch before arriving at the hotel late pm.

DAY 2
Enjoy an extensive full breakfast at the hotel before we depart for todays superb excursion. Heading out with our local tour guide, enjoy a scenic coach tour through the spectacular Yorkshire Dales. Travelling through beautiful rolling countryside, we see the lively market town of Skipton, known as the Gateway to the Dales, with its historic castle and bustling streets. The journey continues deeper into the dramatic landscapes of the Dales, where stone walls, green valleys and traditional villages create unforgettable views. A highlight of the tour is the magnificent Ribblehead Viaduct, one of Britain’s most impressive railway structures, standing proudly against the wild and beautiful scenery. Interesting commentary from our guide before returning to Harrogate late afternoon.  

DAY 3
Day at leisure for you to relax, enjoy the central location of the hotel to explore all the many attractions of Harrogate. Spend a delightful day in one of Yorkshire’s most attractive destinations. Known for its beautiful architecture, floral displays and welcoming atmosphere, Harrogate offers something for everyone. Enjoy browsing the stylish boutiques and independent shops, relax in the lovely surroundings of Valley Gardens, or stroll through the charming town centre. No visit would be complete without a stop at the famous Bettys Café Tea Rooms, renowned for its traditional afternoon teas and delicious cakes. You may need to book in advance!  With its relaxing pace and elegant surroundings, Harrogate is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely day out.

DAY 4
Another excursion out today. Enjoy a delightful day discovering two of North Yorkshire’s most charming historic locations. Our first stop is Ripley Castle, a magnificent country house that has been home to the Ingilby family for over 700 years. Set beside a picturesque lake and surrounded by beautiful gardens and deer parkland, Ripley Castle offers a fascinating glimpse into centuries of English history. Take time to explore the lovely grounds or wander through the adjoining village of Ripley, with its traditional stone cottages and small shops.

Later we continue to the attractive riverside town of Knaresborough. Famous for its dramatic views over the River Nidd, the town is full of character with its medieval streets, independent shops and cafés.

Returning to the hotel late afternoon.

DAY 5
Head for home today. Leaving the hotel after breakfast with comfort stops during the day before arriving back in the local area around 4.00/5.00pm - returned to your local drop off point.
