Hugely popular holiday to this wonderful region of Wales, boasting some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK. This holiday includes views of both the Brecon Beacons and the Cambrian Mountains.

Enjoy a wonderfully scenic 5-day coach holiday to Llandrindod Wells and the Brecon Beacons, combining spectacular landscapes, charming towns and unforgettable Welsh experiences. Staying in the elegant spa town of Llandrindod Wells, this relaxing break offers the perfect base to explore the heart of Mid Wales in comfort and style.

One of the highlights of the holiday is a memorable journey on the Vale of Rheidol Railway. Sit back and relax as the beautifully restored steam train winds its way from Aberystwyth through wooded valleys and dramatic scenery to the breathtaking Devil’s Bridge, offering wonderful photo opportunities along the route. It’s a nostalgic experience that captures the romance of classic rail travel.

Wildlife lovers will be thrilled by a visit to Gigrin Red Kite Feeding Centre, home to one of the UK’s most spectacular natural displays. Watch in awe as magnificent red kites swoop and glide overhead during the daily feeding, a truly unforgettable sight set against the stunning countryside above the Wye Valley.

The holiday also includes a guided tour of the Brecon Beacons National Park, showcasing some of Wales’ most beautiful landscapes. From rolling hills and open moorland to sparkling reservoirs and traditional market towns, the Brecon Beacons offer ever-changing scenery and fascinating local stories, all brought to life by an experienced guide.

Delighted to be returning to our hotel - the 4* Metropole Hotel in the Victorian Spa town of Llandrindod Wells, which we have used many times before. 'Landod' is a great place to spend time with plenty of shops and cafes and an attractive Victorian & Edwardian architecture. Head down to the man-made Llandrindod lake - a great place to spend some time, popular for fishing and model boating. An ideal base to explore this beautiful region - and there is much to see!!

DAY 1

After being collected from your local pick up point around 7.30/8.45am, sit back and enjoy the journey to Wales. Stopping for refreshment stops on the way including a main stop for lunch before arriving in Llandrindod Wells late afternoon. Time to settle in to the hotel and perhaps use the leisure facilities before dinner. 


DAY 2
Enjoy a leisurely full breakfast at the hotel and then enjoy a free morning in the town. 'Landod' is a great place with plenty of shops and cafes and an attractive Victorian & Edwardian architecture. Head down to the man-made Llandrindod lake - a popular place to spend some time, popular for fishing and model boating. Head back to the hotel after lunch and board the coach for a visit to Gigrin Farm Red Kite Feeding Centre. Such a popular excursion  with our customers. We have included a very welcome cup of tea & slice of cake and space in our own hide where we watch and wait for the wonderful spectacle of the sky filling with these magnificent bird of prey. Obviously, there is some walking required but not too much! Entrance, tea and cake included in your holiday price. 



DAY 3
Superb day out to enjoy this iconic scenery. Joined by our local tour guide for a memorable coach tour of the Brecon Beacons National Park, now officially known by its Welsh name, Bannau Brycheiniog. This spectacular region is renowned for its sweeping mountain views, rolling hills, tranquil reservoirs and charming market towns, making it one of the most scenic areas in the UK.

Relax and enjoy the journey as our comfortable coach travels through ever-changing landscapes, from open moorland and rugged peaks to lush valleys dotted with traditional stone villages. Along the way, you’ll hear fascinating stories about the history, culture and legends of Bannau Brycheiniog, bringing the scenery to life and offering a deeper understanding of this unique Welsh landscape.

There will be opportunities to stop at scenic viewpoints and picturesque towns, perfect for photographs, gentle strolls and refreshments. Whether it’s the dramatic mountain passes, peaceful lakes or panoramic countryside, each view showcases the natural splendour that makes this national park so special. Ideal for nature lovers and those who enjoy relaxed sightseeing.


DAY 4

Enjoy a full breakfast at the hotel before boarding the coach for a memorable day out. The drive to the coast, and the Victorian resort of Aberystwych, offers wonderful views of Wales. Enjoy some free time in this popular town before heading to the railway station for one of the highlights of your holiday. We board the Vale of Rheidol narrow gauge steam train for an unforgettable journey to Devil's Bridge, through the beautiful Rheidol Valley. Sit back and relax on a nostalgic journey through the spectacular Mid Wales countryside. Watch the scenery passing, through open fields, ancient woodland and rugged mountain scenery. After an hour, we reach the station at Devil's Bridge - some free time here before we head back to the hotel. Train fare included.

DAY 5
We head home with plenty more scenery on the way! Comfort stops as required including a main stop for lunch before returning to the local area around 5.00pm.

Returning to this excellent hotel which has a good reputation and is ideally located in the elegant town of Llandrindod Wells making it easy to enjoy your free time in the town. A traditional Victorian hotel enjoying modern comforts with a lovely atmosphere - there are lounges and plenty of places where you can relax, enjoy a coffee or why not have a drink in the stylish wood panelled brasserie bar with brass fittings.

The award-winning restaurant is a highlight of the hotel - choice of menu for your evening dinner and a lovely Full ‘Welsh’ breakfast. All the hotel bedrooms are comfortably furnished with en-suite private bathrooms - some shower only - please advise if required when booking - Flatscreen TV, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities and WiFi. Passenger lift to all floors.
