After a full English breakfast, we head for Llanhydrock. Surely one of the very best National Trust destinations in the UK, this magnificent late Victorian country house is set in a huge estate in the middle of Cornwall. The interior is highly impressive, with 50 rooms open to visitors. Highlights include the carved ceiling in the Long Gallery, and the huge library. Follow the route through the house and over in to the servants and family rooms for a fascinating insight in to the Robartes family history. Outside, enjoy the formal gardens and take a look in the church which adjoins the house at the back. Usual excellent National Trust giftshop and catering facilities to enjoy. Includes entrance. DAY 4
Lovely excursion today to the charming Cornish fishing port of Padstow. Stroll along the scenic harbour and enjoy the wonderful view over the Camel Estuary to Rock. The town is heavily linked to the celebrity chef Rick Stein who has a number of catering outlets in the town. Plenty of quaint shops to explore, traditional Cornish pubs, restaurant and eateries for a cream tea, Fish & Chips or a pasty. With flat, accessible paths and stunning views, Padstow has a lovely atmosphere - one of our favourite excursion destinations anywhere! Returning to hotel after lunch for free time.
