Lake Annecy is renowned for its crystal-clear waters, making it one of the cleanest lakes in Europe. Surrounded by majestic mountains, the lake attracts adventure seekers and those wanting to simply enjoy the breathtaking scenery of its pristine shores. The town of Annecy is a postcard-perfect destination. Wander through the Old Town with its colorful buildings, flower-lined canals, and the iconic Palais de l'Isle, a 12th-century castle that seems to float on the water. Explore local markets, savor delicious Savoyard cuisine, and immerse yourself in the town's rich history and vibrant culture.

The Haute-Savoie region is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts with world-class ski resorts like Chamonix and La Clusaz offering stunning alpine views. In summer, the region transforms into a haven for hikers, climbers, and paragliders. The nearby Aravis mountain range and Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe, provide endless stunning views and the region is dotted with charming villages and cultural treasures. During this wonderful holiday we will be joined by a local guide to discover the rich heritage of the region.

DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point around 5.45/7.15am, sit back and relax in comfort on board your modern touring coach as we travel to Dover with comfort stops as required. Crossing the channel with DFDS Seaways takes 90 minutes, so plenty of time to enjoy lunch on board. Continuing through northern France and in to the Champagne region - arriving at Reims mid evening. Excellent overnight hotel here with a 3 course evening meal included - set menu.

Novotel Reims Tinqueux – Excellent quality hotel from this premium brand - ideally located on the outskirts of the city. This modern hotel offers stylish rooms equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Each bedroom features a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, and a minibar. Enjoy a restful night in comfortable beds, and freshen up in en-suite bathrooms complete with complimentary toiletries. Separate shower subject to availability. Lift to all floors. 


DAY 2
We leave the hotel after breakfast and head for the Alps. Plenty of stunning countryside on the route - its perfect coaching territory! Heading up in to the Alps - sit back, relax and enjoy the view! Comfort stops during the day including a main stop for lunch, so plenty of chances to stretch your legs. Enjoy your first sight of Lake Annecy as we arrive at the excellent Hotel Les Grillons early evening. Settle in to your comfortable accommodation and enjoy a welcome drink from the hotel before dinner tonight. The cuisine at the hotel is highly regarded - just check out the reviews online. It is a 4 course set gourmet dinner - Menu de Marche - using the best available products from the markets. Changed every day and beautifully presented. The menu of the day is displayed in the reception in the morning and it is normally possible to alter your main if it is something you particularly do not like.


DAY 3
Start your day with a delicious buffet breakfast at the hotel. And then we have allowed for a day at leisure to relax and enjoy your surroundings. The lakeside is only a 2 minute walk from the hotel so head down to the beach for a morning stroll and soak in the wonderful view. The small village of Talloires is around a 1km walk away along the lakeside and has charming streets the a few shops and bars and the historic Abbaye de Talloires. Plenty more walking routes to explore if you wish but the hotel itself has a lovely terrace and garden to relax around.


We aim to make the very best days out for your holiday. Some additional entrance/transport costs may be payable but these will be minimal. 

DAY 4 
Memorable day out today as we board the coach for an excursion to Lake Geneva which is around 1 1/2 hours away. For part of today we will be joined by a local tour guide to enhance the experience. Nestled on the shores and surrounded by the Alps, Geneva is a vibrant city that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, rich history, and international flair with an array of attractions. Landmarks include the iconic Jet d'Eau, one of the world's tallest water fountains, and a symbol of Geneva. Stroll along the picturesque Lake Geneva Promenade, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and the Mont Blanc mountain range. The Old Town has cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and the stunning St. Pierre Cathedral. Geneva is also the European headquarters of the United Nations, and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent. Geneva is a paradise for shoppers, with luxury boutiques and watchmakers along the Rue du Rhône. For a unique experience, visit the local markets and savor Swiss specialties like fondue and chocolate. From Geneva we head along the lake to Yvoire, the charming medieval village on the shores of Lake Geneva. Known as the "Pearl of the Lake," Yvoire enchants visitors with its cobblestone streets, stunning lake views, quaint shops, lakeside restaurants, and serene atmosphere. Returning to the hotel late afternoon/early evening.

DAY 5
Fantastic day out as we head for Annecy town - only 25 minutes away from the hotel. Often called the "Venice of the Alps," is a lovely destination for a day with its cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and flower-lined canals. Take a leisurely walk to admire the iconic Palais de l'Isle, a 12th-century castle that seems to float on the water, or relax by the Thiou River and soak in the serene atmosphere. Today, we also hope to organise a peaceful boat ride on the lake Annecy, for a lovely view of the surrounding mountains. The flat, lakeside promenade is perfect for a gentle stroll or a quiet bench to enjoy the views. For a touch of history, visit the Château d'Annecy, a restored castle offering panoramic views of the town and lake. Annecy is a welcoming destination with plenty of benches, accessible paths, and cozy cafes to rest and enjoy a coffee or a meal. Its calm pace and timeless charm make it an ideal spot to unwind and create lasting memories.


DAY 6
Today we are joined by our local guide for a journey through the Haute-Savoie region. This breathtaking corner of the French Alps combines stunning landscapes, charming villages, and rich cultural heritage - perfect for a coach tour with serene lakeside retreats and majestic mountain vistas. Our tour guide will help us explore the very best sights exploring the natural wonders, historic sites, and charming villages of this alpine paradise!


DAY 7
Sadly we leave our hotel and the mountains and head back to our overnight hotel. Sit back, relax and take in the wonderful scenery on route - again we will be having an extended break for lunch and a stop before returning to Reims for our overnight hotel stop. 3 course evening meal included - set menu.

DAY 8
After breakfast we continue home, boarding the mid afternoon DFDS ferry crossing from Calais to Dover. Comfort stops during the day - arriving back to the local area around 7.30/8.30pm.

In the morning the restaurant served an extensive buffet with freshly baked French Baguettes, pastries, meats, cheeses, pancakes, homemade jams and jellies and cake. The evening meal will very much be a highlight of your stay. A different 4 course set gourmet style 'Menu de Marche' is prepared everyday by the kitchen team. Beautifully presented and served with care, the menu is a mixture of traditional Savoyard and international cuisine.
