Snowdonia National Park never fails to impress! The oldest national park in Wales is home to the tallest mountain in Wales - the mighty Snowdon and the entire area is full of some of the most spectacular scenery in the whole of the UK. For this holiday, we are staying in the very heart of the park in the town of Llanberis. A mecca for hill walkers and hikers, there is plenty to enjoy here besides soaking in those amazing views! Enjoy a walk around the village, a stroll along the lake or take the little train to the slate museum. You may also choose to join the Snowdon Mountain Railway from the town.

We also explore the beautiful surrounding area on this holiday. Joined by our superb local guide for 2 days including a full day touring through the National Park park including a memorable trip on the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway and a visit to the remarkable Portmeirion. Strictly for lovers of wonderful scenery this one!

DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point around 7.00/8.30am, settle back, relax and enjoy the journey. We have refreshment stops including a main stop for lunch before arriving in Snowdonia late afternoon. Time to settle in to your room at the hotel before heading down for dinner..


DAYS 2 & 3
Enjoy a full cooked breakfast at the hotel before we head out to explore this wonderful region. We are joined by our excellent local guide on both days. Having a guide in the National Park makes a huge difference to the days!  

The full itinerary will be available closer to departure but during these 2 days we will include the stunning scenery of the National Park as we pass through some of the finest scenery in Britain including some great photo stop opportunities. Included is a memorable trip on the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway between Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog. The train meanders through the hills enjoying the views! We will also be visiting the amazing and magical, Portmeirion. Designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis in 1925, Portmerion village was built in imitation of a rustic Italian village and was famously used in ‘The Prisoner’ TV show. Definitely a unique attraction! Entrance fee & train journey included in holiday cost.


DAY 4
Last day in Llanberis today and a day at leisure so you may like to stay around the town. There is some lovely walking and a number of attractions you can enjoy plus there is the opportunity of taking the Snowdon Mountain Railway to the summit. The station is virtually opposite the hotel - you would need to book this. 


DAY 5
We head home this morning, with refreshment stops as required including a main stop for lunch before being returned to the local area around 5.00/6.00pm.

The hotel is beautifully located on the edge of the popular town of Llanberis in Snowdonia National Park. Set within 30 acres of gardens and woodlands between the lakes of Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and surrounded by the beautiful Welsh mountains. It is just a short walk in to town and the Snowdon Mountain Railway station is opposite the entrance so you have the chance to go up to the summit in your free time. Other attractions in the town include the narrow gauge Llanberis Lake Railway which chugs along the northern shore of Llyn Padarn and the awesome Slate Mines. Very popular with outdoor and walking enthusiasts so look forward to seeing hikers heading for the mountains!

One of the oldest hotels in Wales, the hotel is a lovely building with the inside retaining a traditional décor with modern comforts. 

Both breakfast and dinner is served in the restaurant – a full hot & cold buffet for the morning with a 3 course dinner -choice of menu. Cuisine at the hotel is traditional British Fare.

The Eryri Bar & Lounge has a lovely atmosphere and is open daily serving food and drinks, indoors or head out into the garden, take a seat and enjoy those views.

The comfortable bedrooms in the main hotel enjoy either woodland or courtyard views. All are en-suite - most with shower over bath - a small number have a shower only. Room amenities include flat screen TV with Freeview, tea & coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, and hairdryer. There is a choice of room upgrades – subject to availability and extra charge.
