Superb holiday staying in the very heart of Cornish life in Looe and with excursions discovering the beautiful countryside, towns and people of the region. The historic fishing Port of Looe on Cornwall’s south coast is amazing - you can ‘feel’ the history of the town centred around the bustling harbour where you can watch the catch being ‘brought-in’ by the fishing boats.

It’s a great place to explore - stroll through the labyrinth of narrow streets lined with cafes, antique shops and pick up a tasty pasty in one of the bakers to enjoy on the sandy beach. A wonderful destination with a great hotel for a lovely holiday.

This hotel has been awarded a Travellers' Choice 2024 Award - meaning they consistently earn great reviews from travellers and are ranked within the top 10% of properties on Tripadvisor for enjoyment and value for money.

During our stay there will be some evening entertainment plus the centre of Looe is just across the bridge so its a short stroll to a choice of pubs.

DAY 2
After a full English breakfast, we head for Llanhydrock. Surely one of the very best National Trust destinations in the UK, this magnificent late Victorian country house is set in a huge estate in the middle of Cornwall. The interior is highly impressive, with 50 rooms open to visitors. Highlights include the carved ceiling in the Long Gallery, and the huge library. Follow the route through the house and over in to the servants and family rooms for a fascinating insight in to the Robartes family history. Outside, enjoy the formal gardens and take a look in the church which adjoins the house at the back. Usual excellent National Trust giftshop and catering facilities to enjoy. Includes entrance. NT Member discount - £20

DAY 3
In the morning you may choose to join our short excursion to the quaint traditional fishing port of Polperro. Wander through narrow, winding streets lined with whitewashed cottages, explore the historic harbor, and soak in breathtaking coastal views. Polperro offers a peaceful retreat and a taste of traditional Cornish life, Polperro is a hidden gem waiting to be explored.

Please note that it is a 15 minute stroll down to the village from the car park so may not be suitable for all but the walk is well worth it.

Returning to the hotel around lunchtime or early afternoon for a totally free afternoon to enjoy the comfort of the hotel and explore Looe.

DAY 4
Lovely excursion out today visiting the popular Lost Gardens of Heligan. Having fallen in to disrepair these amazing gardens were rediscovered by Tim Smit, who went on to establish the nearby Eden Project. From the more formal walled gardens, down to the sub-tropical Jungle area with giant palms and pond, these remarkable gardens offer something of interest for every eye. Great fun exploring here before we head down to the coast to Mevagissey. One of those classic Cornish fishing port - just a great place to stroll around and explore the narrow streets. Entrance to Gardens included in holiday price.
