Join us on this fantastic two centre 9 day holiday as we tour through beautiful landscape visiting various destinations along the way. With so much to see over a large area, Scotland lends itself well to a multi-hotel tour so we can see as much as possible.

During the holiday you will experience the beautiful, lush central belt with time in historic Stirling and a day in Edinburgh before heading on through Perthshire and the beautiful Cairngorms. Onwards to experience some of the many highlights of the Highlands including a cruise on Loch Ness, picture postcard Urqhart Castle plus the remarkable castle at Dunrobin!

During the holiday we stay in good quality, welcoming hotels throughout and with reasonable travel times during the day just sit back, relax and let Scotland soak in. We are sure you will want to return!

DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point around 5.45/7.00am, sit back and relax as we travel north with comfort stops and a main stop for lunch. Crossing the border into Scotland and arriving at our welcoming hotel in the historic town of Stirling approximately 6.30pm.

4* Stirling Highland Hotel - Set within the beautiful, historic city of Stirling, this charming Victorian building was once the towns High School and even has an observatory in the roof which guests can visit! Less than 10 minutes’ walk from the city’s historic castle and lovely shopping and café area. With a traditional décor throughout and modern facilities for a comfortable stay. Leisure facilities include a full spa & gym plus a large indoor swimming pool. Meals are served in Scholar’s Restaurant with a full cooked Scottish Breakfast on offer and 3 course evening meal. The bedrooms are comfortable with ensuite bathroom, premium mattress and bedding, complimentary Wifi, Flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities All single rooms are double/twin for sole use.  with choice of menu and tea/coffee. DAY 2
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the restaurant with the rest of the day free for you to explore the town. Known as the gateway to the Scottish Highlands, Stirling is a lovely town to explore with an authentic, historic feel.


DAY 3 - Edinburgh
After a full cooked breakfast, we head for Edinburgh which is about 1 ¼ hours away - passing the giant metal horse heads of The Kelpies on route. Steeped in history, the compact capital of Scotland is a great day out. With a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town, there are parks and gardens dotted around the centre. Looming over the city is Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels. Head to the famous Calton Hill, topped with monuments and memorials, for a panoramic view of the city.


DAY 4 – Stirling to Grantown-on-Spey
We leave Stirling in the rear view mirror today and journey on into the wonderful Scottish countryside. Climbing up into the scenic Cairngorms National Park – absolutely beautiful so don’t forget your camera. Arriving in the grand Highland town of Grantown-on-Spey with plenty of time before dinner. Lovely little town to explore with shops, cafes and you can even take a walk out into the country and down to the beautiful River Spey. And there is the ever present scenic backdrop! 

4* Grant Arms Hotel - Situated in the heart of Grantown-on-Spey, this gem of a hotel offers modern comforts whilst retaining its traditional character. In 1860, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert stayed here! The hotel offers modern comforts whilst retaining its character and particularly specialises in holidays to enjoy the abundant wildlife in this region. The 50 well maintained bedrooms are comfortable with spacious bathrooms, TV, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. The large, traditional restaurant is in a beautiful room with high ceilings and overlooks the high street. The bar and lounge areas are cosy and relaxing. Lift to most floors but some have steps to the rooms. – 4 night stay.


DAY 5 – Speyside Cooperage & Glen Moray Distillery
This morning, we visit the fascinating Speyside Cooperage where we enjoy a guided tour taking in the sights, sounds and smells of a working cooperage and visit the viewing gallery where we can watch first-hand coopers at work. This ancient art is still an integral part of the whisky industry today and we will see the barrels in a whole different light afterwards when we visit Glen Moray distillery for a guided tour. Well over a century old, the distillery nestles on the banks of the River Lossie in the city of Elgin, the capital of Speyside and has gone from strength to strength, now producing 2 million litres each year in a variety of casks, each producing its own unique flavour. Entrance fees included.


DAY 6 – Inverness & Dunrobin Castle
Enjoy a delicious full breakfast this morning before a memorable day. During the day we will stop for some time to explore the historic town of Inverness and also a wonderfully scenic drive along the east coast. 

We have included a visit to the majestic Dunrobin Castle, a fairy-tale castle enchantingly perched on a high terrace overlooking the Moray Firth. Resembling a French chateau, the beautiful gardens offer panoramic views across the water. Inside, the main staircase leads to the state rooms and we can explore the grand dining room and well-stocked library before moving on to the older parts of the castle. Entrance included.


DAY 7 – Loch Ness Cruise & Urqhart Castle
You cannot visit this region without seeing Loch Ness! Beautiful drive along the shoes of the Loch before we stop for time in Fort Augustus. Time to explore the town plus we have included, of course, a cruise out on to the water on one of the pleasure boats. We have also included entrance to Urquhart Castle during the day. One of the iconic images of Scotland, the castle ruins are wonderfully picturesque against the backdop of the water. A wonderful way to finish exploring this area. Entrance/cruise fee included.


DAY 8
We start the journey home, but still plenty of scenery to enjoy on route. We make an extended stop for lunch and have other comfort break. Sit back, relax and enjoy the journey.

Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa – This modern 4* quality hotel has excellent facilities including superb leisure facilities. 3 course evening meal included with choice of menu and tea/coffee. Porterage included.


DAY 9
After a full English breakfast, we continue the journey home with comfort stops on route before returning to the local area around 5.00pm.
