Having started life as a priory, Mottisfont, near Romsey, was transformed over the years in to a lovely country home surrounded by a large estate and parkland. Maud Russell made Mottisfont her home in the 1930s, bringing artists here to relax and work – the extraordinary drawing-room was painted by artist Rex Whistler. Enjoy a stroll along the sparkling River Test which runs through the estate whilst the gardens here are renowned for a wonderful display of ancient Roses. Plenty of time to explore plus there is an excellent cafe/restaurant or you may like to picnic in the grounds. Price includes entrance.
