With a remarkable history for more than 300 years, Cliveden was home to dukes, earls viscounts. Built on a chalk cliff on the Buckinghamshire/Berkshire border the list of famous names who have been guests over the years is remarkable including Lloyd George, Winston Churchill, George Bernard Shaw, Ghandi and Henry Ford. Cliveden hit the headlines in 1963 when John Profumo met Christine Keeler by the swimming pool. The informal gardens are stunning - enjoy exploring the peaceful woodlands, the colourful planting schemes, breathtaking views and the giant maze. The house is now a luxury hotel but some of the public rooms are available to view including the Great Hall and French Dining Room. Price includes entrance to gardens and a timed tour of the house.
