Few cities rival the historic splendour of York and it is no wonder that it is one of our top selling destinations. Steeped in history spanning 2000 years, York is a compact walled riverside city home to world-class attractions including the stunning York Minster. We stay within the medieval city walls allowing you time to explore the historic centre and its many attractions and cobbled streets lined with interesting and original shops. Don’t miss The Shambles, perhaps the most picturesque streets in England complete with overhanging timber-framed houses and traditional shopfronts. York  Minster, one of the largest cathedrals in Northern Europe is also on the must do list. In fact, add the excellent Jorvik Viking Centre and National Railway Museum and its easy to see why many of our customers choose to spend all their time in the city! York – if you haven’t been – go.

Venture out of the city and the magnificent Yorkshire countryside is close at hand. We include a trip out with a local guide over the stunning Yorkshire Moors and visit the magnificent Harewod House - one of the very best estates in England!

DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point (approx 7.30/9.00am), sit back and relax as we make our way north with comfort stops on route including a main stop for lunch before arriving at the hotel late afternoon. Settle in to your room before dinner - 3 course evening meal with choice of menu followed by tea and coffee.

DAY 2
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel then you may like to join our short excursion. We head to the market town of Thirsk where we have included entrance to The World of James Herriot museum. This highly regarded and multi award winning museum is located in the centre of town where the vet worked and wrote his series of All Creatures Great and Small books. The museum takes around 1 ½ hours to go round and is self guided. The museum was awarded the Best of The Best Award by TripAdvisor 2022!! Afterwards, we have allowed for free time to enjoy the town – lovely old buildings and cobbled market square and plenty of places to enjoy lunch. Returning to York mid afternoon.

DAY 3
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel with the remainder of the day at your leisure. Taking advantage of the central position of the hotel with so many nearby attractions. You may like to take a river boat ride along The Ouse, visit York Minster, walk the city walls, visit a museum, art gallery or just relax in a café bar and enjoy the atmosphere. Wonderful city to explore.

Wonderful day out as we are joined by our local tour guide to discover the rugged beauty of the Yorkshire Moors, an enchanting landscape of rolling hills, wild heather, and vast open skies. Touring through one of England’s most captivating natural areas with charming villages, and historic landmarks. Keep an eye out for wildlife on the way  including birds of prey, ponies and deer.
