Kent has so much to offer the visitor. From magnificent castles and houses embedded in to the very heart of England’s history, to towns and cities which have influenced world events over the years - it is perhaps the county which has the most to offer in the whole of Britain. Too many options to choose from!!

This holiday enjoys a varied itinerary a visit to historic Canterbury - birthplace of the Anglican church wonderfully historic Castles and beautiful gardens. We pass through lovely countryside on route to our excursion destinations – Kent is known as the 'Garden of England' due to its success in producing food and drink, particularly fruit, hops and herbs, so look out for orchards, pointy-roofed oast houses and windmills.

 

DAY 1
Collected from your local pick up point around 8.00/9.15am, we have a lunch stop in the historic centre of Guildford before arriving at the hotel mid-afternoon. Settle in to the comfort of your room before dinner.


DAY 2
Enjoy a splendid full buffet breakfast before heading off for today's excursion. A visit to Chartwell, the beloved home of Winston Churchill, offers a fascinating glimpse into the private world of one of Britain’s most iconic leaders. Set in the rolling countryside of Kent, this beautiful country house was where Churchill lived with his family for over 40 years and where he found inspiration for writing, painting, and entertaining guests.

Today, visitors can explore the house’s richly furnished rooms, filled with personal photographs, books, and memorabilia that reflect Churchill’s remarkable life and career. His studio, where he pursued his passion for painting, remains much as he left it. The gardens at Chartwell are equally captivating, with sweeping lawns, colourful borders, and peaceful woodland walks. Take time to enjoy the views across the Weald of Kent, visit the lakes created by Churchill himself, and browse the gift shop or relax in the café. A day at Chartwell is both inspiring and memorable. Entrance fee included. 


DAY 3
After breakfast we head for Canterbury. This historic destination is dominated by the magnificent Cathedral, the oldest in England, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which has played such an important part in world history as the base for the Anglican Church. But there is much more to Canterbury, with other ancient ruins such as the Castle and a lovely cobbled centre to explore on foot. Returning to the hotel late afternoon.


DAY 4
Another magical excursion today as we step into history with a delightful visit to Hever Castle, one of England’s most romantic and historic castles. Best known as the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, the castle offers a fascinating glimpse into Tudor life. Surrounded by a picturesque moat, the beautifully preserved rooms are filled with rich tapestries, antique furniture and an impressive collection of Tudor portraits. Outside, the award-winning gardens provide a wonderful place to explore at leisure. Stroll through the Italian Garden with its classical statues, admire the colourful seasonal planting, or enjoy peaceful views across the lake. The grounds also feature a charming Tudor-style village, maze and scenic walking paths. Whether you are drawn by history, stunning gardens or the tranquil countryside setting, Hever Castle promises a memorable and relaxing day out in the heart of Kent. Entrance fees included.   


DAY 5
We head home with a stop for lunch in historic Chichester. Arriving back to your local pick up point around 3/4.00pm.
