NEW FOR 2026!!

A day of unadulterated nostalgia! Step into a world of charm and meticulous craftsmanship with a delightful visit to Bekonscot Model Village & Railway.

Nestled in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside, Bekonscot is the oldest original model village in the world, first opening in 1929. Lovingly maintained and beautifully detailed, it captures the spirit of rural England in the 1930s, complete with miniature towns, villages, farms and seaside scenes. Every corner reveals something new — from tiny shopkeepers and schoolchildren to wedding parties and village cricket matches — all brought to life with extraordinary precision.

The extensive model railway is a particular highlight. With several gauges of track weaving through tunnels, over bridges and around stations, the trains run continuously, delighting visitors of all ages. For many, it’s a wonderful reminder of childhood holidays and traditional British seaside towns.

Paths are well maintained and largely level, making it suitable for those who prefer a gentle stroll at their own pace. There are plenty of benches throughout the village for rest stops, allowing everyone to take in the intricate details comfortably.

After exploring, the tearoom provides a welcoming space to relax with a cup of tea, light lunch or homemade cake — ideal for socialising and sharing favourite discoveries from the day.

We have included a trip on the narrow gauge sit on railway - should be good fun!! We shall be staying at Bekonscot for around 3 hours.
