Ludlow itself is often described as one of the finest towns in Shropshire. Renowned for its rich history and outstanding food scene, the town is a joy to discover. A short stroll brings you to the grand St Laurence's Church, often called the “Cathedral of the Marches”, famed for its stunning stained glass and towering nave. Nearby, the gentle waters of the River Teme provide a peaceful setting for riverside walks.

DAY 1

After being collected from your local pick up point (approx 7.30/8.45am) we have comfort stops including a main stop for lunch on route before arriving at the hotel mid afternoon, around 3.00pm, with time to settle into your room and enjoy the ambience of the hotel before dinner. The hotel is highly regarded for quality cuisine - 3 course menu with 3 choices per course.


DAY 2
Enjoy a delicious, leisurely breakfast at the hotel before, mid morning, we board the coach for todays excursion. It is only a short drive to National Trust's elegance of Berrington Hall, a magnificent neoclassical mansion set within sweeping Herefordshire parkland. Designed by architect Henry Holland in the late 18th century, this beautifully proportioned country house is surrounded by “Capability” Brown’s final landscaped garden – his last great masterpiece. Step inside to admire refined interiors, period furnishings and fascinating stories of Georgian life. Outside, enjoy tranquil lakeside walks, colourful walled gardens and far-reaching rural views. With a welcoming tearoom and gift shop to complete your visit, Berrington Hall offers a delightful blend of history, architecture and peaceful countryside charm. Entrance included - NT Members receive a £15 discount - please advise when booking. After we return to the hotel mid afternoon for free time to explore the town.


DAY 3
With so much to see in Ludlow, enjoy a day at leisure to explore at will.


DAY 4
Wonderful excursion today as we head for historic Shrewsbury on the River Severn. Enjoy a beautiful, scenic drive over the Shropshire Hills before we arrive at the birthplace of Charles Darwin. Shrewsbury is one of England’s finest medieval market towns with over 600 listed buildings. Step back in time along the cobbled streets lined with traditional half timbered houses. Lovely selection of independent shops and a wide variety of eateries for every palate. We have also included a leisurely 40 minute river cruise for a unique perspective of the town. Returning to Ludlow mid/late afternoon. Great day out.    


DAY 5
We depart the hotel after breakfast and head home, again with suitable comfort stops before returning to the local area around 3.00/4.00pm.
