There are some excellent friendly independent shops in Sidmouth, and a range of cafes, restaurants and pubs. The delightful regency architecture adds to the unique atmosphere of this lovely town - a gem.

DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point in the morning (approx. 9.30/10.45am), sit back and relax onboard one of our quality, comfortable touring coaches. On our way to Sidmouth there will be a quick comfort break and a main stop with plenty of time for a relaxed lunch. Arriving at the hotel on the front in Sidmouth at around 3.30pm with time to relax and settle into your room and enjoy the ambience of the hotel before dinner. The quality of the food and service in the elegant surroundings of the restaurant are a real highlight of your holiday at The Victoria!

DAY 2
Enjoy a delicious full breakfast with a wide range on offer in the restaurant. The coach will depart after breakfast for a morning excursion to Exmouth. The town has a lovely location on the estuary of the River Exe with a relaxed out of season atmosphere. Enjoy a bracing walk on the seafront with dramatic views along to Orcombe Point of the Jurassic Coast and over the estuary to Dawlish Warren. In the town there are cosy cafés perfect for warming up with coffee and cake and independent shops. A couple of hours in the town before we return to Sidmouth for free time to relax in the hotel or explore the town.

DAY 3
Another lovely breakfast to start the day before we head out on todays excursion to Taunton, which is about an hour away. Taunton enjoys a relaxed blend of shopping, dining and history. Browse a wide range of high-street stores and independent shops, ideal for unhurried browsing and early festive shopping. When it’s time to eat, Taunton offers inviting cafés, traditional pubs and excellent restaurants serving local Somerset produce alongside international dishes. Between shopping and dining, discover Taunton’s rich past, from the historic Castle Green to the fascinating Museum of Somerset, telling the story of the town and county. With fewer crowds and a cosy atmosphere, Taunton is perfect for an autumn day out. Departing the town early afternoon - heading back to the hotel.

DAY 4
In the morning we have a short excursion up to the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary. Especially enjoyable with its new, modern café building providing a warm and welcoming retreat. Depending on the weather, it may well be difficult to meet the donkeys but it is a lovely spot to soak in the Devon countryside, relax in the spacious café with panoramic views, serving freshly prepared hot drinks and homemade treats. Fewer crowds at this time of year allow for a calm, unhurried experience, perfect for soaking up the tranquil setting. Returning to the hotel at lunchtime with time at leisure before tonight's dinner.

DAY 5
After breakfast, sadly we say goodbye to the staff and board the coach for the journey home. Brief comfort stop on the way before arriving back in the local area around 12.30/1.30pm.
