Enjoy the scenic rolling hills, thatched cottages, peaceful farmland and historic churches on our day out to two of the highlights of the county.

Arriving first in Dorchester on market day. Dorchester was granted its first market charter in 1305 and is still going strong with around 200 stores selling a wide range of goods. Held at Weymouth Avenue, which is located opposite Brewery Square and just a short walk away from Dorchester town centre. Plenty more to enjoy around the town which has a wealth of history to explore dating back to pre-Roman times. The towns most famous inhabitant was Thomas Hardy. Born locally, the writer cared deeply about preserving the local town and the county, creating a fictional version of the town (Casterbridge) and brilliantly describing the surrounding area in stunning detail. There are various points of Hardy interest around the town. There is a good variety of shops, coffee shops and eateries to enjoy around Dorchester.

Afterwards we travel to Weymouth with time in this traditional seaside resort. The wide award winning three mile beach has beautiful sand and a level promenade with traditional facilities to enjoy. In the town there is a great selection of shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Head to the harbour lined by Georgian houses, grab some chips and watch the fishing boats. Lovely. Good value day out.
