Lovely day with a visit to this superb family run Garden Centre - located in Ottery St Mary close to Sidmouth in South Devon. One of the finest in the South West, and largest in the UK, the venue has become a regular and popular lunch stop for us on our holiday tour to the West Country. So much so, that we have included it as its own day excursion! Great place to get some fresh ideas for the garden. For many, the freshly prepared food available in the restaurant - now bigger and better, is a highlight of the day. 

On the way out we have an extended stop in the charming, small coastal resort of West Bay. Once known as Bridport Harbour, the town has two piers and is lined with old cottages, characterful wooden kiosks, an early 19th-centuary customs house and until the mid-19th century, exported Bridport’s ropes and nets. Over the recent years the town has featured in popular TV series - most famously, Broadchurch staring David Tennant and Olivia Colman but this is also the spot that Reggie Perrin left his pile of clothes on the beach! Enjoy time here, grab a coffee and take a stroll along the pier.
