Having started life as a priory, Mottisfont, near Romsey, was transformed over the years in to a lovely country home surrounded by a large estate and parkland. Maud Russell made Mottisfont her home in the 1930s, bringing artists here to relax and work – the extraordinary drawing-room was painted by artist Rex Whistler. Enjoy a stroll along the sparkling River Test which runs through the estate and the colours of the season. The gardens are particularly renowned for their Rose collection. Plenty of time to explore plus there is an excellent cafe/restaurant or you may like to picnic in the grounds. Price includes entrance.
