We are absolutely delighted to have secured Deluxe seats for this hugely popular spectacular in County Durham – Kynren – An Epic Tale of England.
Quite unique for England, this open-air spectacular has a cast and crew of over 1000 people and takes the audience on a live extravaganza through 2000 years of English history – from the Roman occupation, the Viking and Norman invasions to medieval feasts, Tudor times, The English Civil War and both World Wars. Critically acclaimed this amazing event is a mix of hand-to-hand combat, jousting, daring stunts, incredible horsemanship, stunning pyrotechnics and amazing special effects. The show takes place against the backdrop of Auckland Castle for a really authentic atmosphere on a 7 acre stage!

We return to the excellent 4* Copthorne Hotel, beautifully situated on the waterfront in the heart of Newcastle. Superb quality throughout and a great position for exploring the attractions of this lively and fun city!

DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point around 6.30/7.45am we have comfort stops as required, including an extended stop at lunchtime, before arriving at the hotel late afternoon. Settle into your room an enjoy the atmosphere of the hotel before dinner – 3 courses with choice of menu.
DAY 2
Head for the restaurant for a full breakfast to set you up for the day. Time at leisure today with the hotel position offering easy access to the city centre sights. Returning to the hotel for an early dinner before we depart for Bishop Auckland, site for the Kynren show. Arriving in good time before the 90 minute show which begins at 8.45pm. Mostly flat 350m walk form the coach drop off point to the show site. We have selected Deluxe seating so you will have a good view of the show throughout the evening. After the show we return to the hotel - hopefully around 11.00/11.30pm - subject to traffic.
Please note that this is an open air theatre and there is no shelter from rain or adverse weather. We recommend you bring blankets and warm coats - umbrellas are not allowed. Bags exceeding 40 x 30 x 20cm are not permitted. Backpacks are not allowed. Bags are subject to a security check upon entry. Blankets must fit in bags.
DAY 3
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast - around mid-morning you may like to join our excursion to Durham which is only 1/2 an hour away. A wonderful Heritage city to explore with both the impressive Cathedral and Castle situated high above the River Wear. Some of the finest examples of Romanesque & Norman architecture in the world with the surrounding streets enjoying a lovely atmosphere. Plenty of places to find somewhere nice for lunch, some excellent shopping and riverside walks. Top destination. Returning to the hotel to relax before dinner.
DAY 4
After breakfast we head home with comfort stops on route including a main stop for lunch. Returning to the local area around 7.00pm.
