Hugely popular holiday to this wonderful region of Wales, boasting some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK. This holiday includes views of both the Brecon Beacons and the Cambrian Mountains.

Delighted to be returning to our hotel - the superb 4* Metropole Hotel in the Victorian Spa town of Llandrindod Wells, which we have used many times before. 'Landod' is a great place to spend time with plenty of shops and cafes and an attractive Victorian & Edwardian architecture. Head down to the man-made Llandrindod lake - a great place to spend some time, popular for fishing and model boating. An ideal base to explore this beautiful region - and there is much to see!! 

Any way you travel from here the scenery is wonderful. We are so pleased to be able to offer a return for the excursion on the Vale of Rheidol Railway which follows a beautiful valley to Aberystwych. We will also be  joined, once again, by our local guide for a full day exploring the best views and history of the Beacon Beacons National Park. Absolutely superb holiday - don't miss it!!

DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point around 7.30/8.45am, sit back and enjoy the journey to Wales. Stopping for refreshment stops on the way including a main stop for lunch before arriving in Llandrindod Wells late afternoon. Time to settle in to the hotel and perhaps use the leisure facilities before dinner.

DAY 2
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel with a free morning in the town. After lunch we make the short journey to see another of the highlights of your holiday. The Red Kite Feeding Centre at Gigrin Farm offers the breathtaking spectacle of these beautiful birds at feeding time! Really popular excursion which includes our own 'hides' and a cup of tea & slice of cake. Obviously, some walking required! Entrance included.

DAY 3
Another lovely day today as we are joined by our excellent local guide for a tour of the Brecon Beacons National Park including views of Pen y Fan and so much more. Touring through the region and learning about the history and geology with some fantastic photo stops and a main stop for lunch. Stunning scenery today!!  

DAY 4

Enjoy a full breakfast at the hotel before boarding the coach for a memorable day out. The drive to the coast, and the Victorian resort of Aberystwych, offers wonderful views of Wales. Enjoy some free time in this popular town before heading to the railway station for one of the highlights of your holiday. We board the Vale of Rheidol narrow gauge steam train for an unforgettable journey to Devil's Bridge, through the beautiful Rheidol Valley. Sit back and relax on a nostalgic journey through the spectacular Mid Wales countryside. Watch the scenery passing, through open fields, ancient woodland and rugged mountain scenery. After an hour, we reach the station at Devil's Bridge - some free time here before we head back to the hotel. Train fare included.

DAY 5
We head home with comfort stops as required – returning to the local area around 5.00pm.

Returning to this excellent luxury hotel which has an excellent reputation and is ideally located in the elegant town of Llandrindod Wells making it easy to enjoy your free time in the town. A traditional Victorian hotel enjoying modern comforts with a lovely atmosphere - there are lounges and plenty of places where you can relax, enjoy a coffee or why not have a drink in the stylish wood panelled brasserie bar with brass fittings.

The award-winning restaurant is a highlight of the hotel - choice of menu for your evening dinner and a lovely Full ‘Welsh’ breakfast. All the hotel bedrooms are comfortably furnished with en-suite private bathrooms - some shower only - please advise if required when booking - Flatscreen TV, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities and WiFi.
