Every Autumn over 3 million visitors travel to Blackpool to see the world-famous Illuminations. The Blackpool Illuminations have been a major part of Blackpool’s attraction since 1879 when they were described as ‘Artificial Sunshine’. This archetypal resort’s other attractions include the Pleasure Beach Fun Park, the Winter Gardens entertainment complex and the iconic Blackpool Tower complete with the (calling all Strictly Fans!) Tower Ballroom! We are based for this holiday at the excellent 3* Doric Hotel on the seafront – quality surroundings, great service, food and entertainment. Fantastic value for money!

DAY 1                
After being collected from your local pick point around 8.00am we travel to our hotel with refreshment stops as required, arriving late afternoon at the hotel.

DAY 2
Day out to the Lake District. Lovely time of year to visit this beautiful area as the Autumn colours start to show. Includes extended time in one of the lakeside towns around lunchtime – time to take a trip on one of the lake cruisers.

DAY 3
Excellent excursion today as we are joined by a knowledgeable local guide for a tour of the city of Liverpool. Over recent years the city centre and waterfront have been transformed into a stylish modern metropolis, whilst celebrating the cultural heritage which inspired the city’s achievements. We explore the city centre and waterfront including the Albert Dock, packed with attractions, stylish shops and cafes.  

DAY 4
Day at leisure in Blackpool! The hotel position, on Queen’s Promenade has excellent transport links into town with a Bus Stop directly outside. Or take the heritage tram down to the Pleasure Beach and enjoy all the other attractions of Blackpool – this is the best way to see the Illuminations!

DAY 5
We leave the hotel after breakfast and head home with comfort stops as required before arriving back in the local area late afternoon.
