Lytes Cary Manor is an intimate medieval manor house with a beautiful Arts and Crafts garden set in the Somerset countryside near Somerton. One of the National Trust's smaller properties but set it 350 acres. Originally the home of Henry Lyte and then restored in the 20th century by Sir Walter Jenner. In 1907, Sir Walter and Lady Flora Jenner created a new garden in the Arts and Craft style featuring rectangular ‘rooms’ separated by yew hedges and stone walls and each reflecting a different mood. The garden rooms contain a magical collection of topiary and herbaceous borders, while tranquil walks on the estate take you along the River Cary.  The beautiful manor house has a staggered entrance system - once inside you can explore the medieval parts of the house, where the rooms remain as the Jenners restored and furnished them, full of unpainted and unpolished woodwork, faded tapestries and family collectables. There is a small cafe or you can bring your own lunch to enjoy in the grounds.

 Price includes entrance.
