The Victorian Spa town of Harrogate in Yorkshire is a delightful destination for a holiday and has proved to be very popular with our. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and charming historic towns, villages and attractions it is not hard to see why the town has been voted ‘the happiest in Britain’.

With graceful Victorian architecture and beautiful floral public gardens around the town, Harrogate is a great destination for a holiday with a cosmopolitan feel. Dotted with pavement cafes, bars, tearooms (including the famous Betty’s) and fashionable boutiques there is plenty to enjoy during your stay. If you have time, head for the Turkish Baths & Health Spa to enjoy a tour or maybe a treatment in this remarkable building.

DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point around 7.00/8.30am, we shall have a refreshment stop and a stop for lunch before arriving at the hotel late pm.

DAY 2
Enjoy an extensive full breakfast at the hotel before we depart for todays superb excursion. Heading towards the beautiful Dales with our local tour guide, we stop in the historic market town of Skipton - gateway to the Dales! A lovely place to explore with nostalgic cobbled side streets, a magnificent castle, parish church, and traditional high street market place - plenty of independent and boutiques, pubs, cafes and restaurants. We have also included a canal boat trip on the award-winning Skipton Boat Trips for a 1 hour cruise along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal with a fun, informative commentary along the way. In the afternoon we head up in to the glorious  Yorkshire Dales. The scenery up here is absolutely wonderful - passing through towns and villages with commentary from our guide before returning to Harrogate.  

DAY 3
Day at leisure for you to relax, enjoy the central location of the hotel to explore all the many attractions of Harrogate including some great shops, plenty of places for lunch and the beautiful public gardens.

DAY 4
Superb excursion destination today as we head for York. A city where the timeline of history is all around you - once a huge Roman stronghold, York went on to be captured by the Vikings and has been prevalent throughout British history. The city is surrounded by impressive medieval stone walls, just about the best preserved in England and attractions in the city include the magnificent York Minster, National Railway Museum, York Castle Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre and much more. But it is also a great place just to potter about and take it all in. Plenty of pedestrianised cobbled streets lined with shops and a huge choice of restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and bars - there is a real wealth of choice! Don't miss the historic Shambles area - one of the best-preserved medieval shopping streets in Europe with charming overhanging buildings. Once the butchers area of the city now it is home to cafés, quirky shops and chocolate, fudge and sweet shops. 

DAY 5
Head for home today. Leaving the hotel after breakfast with comfort stops during the day before arriving back in the local area around 4.00/5.00pm - returned to your local drop off point.
