Superb holiday staying in the very heart of Cornish life in Looe and with excursions discovering the beautiful countryside, towns and people of the region. The historic fishing Port of Looe on Cornwall’s south coast is amazing - you can ‘feel’ the history of the town centred around the bustling harbour where you can watch the catch being ‘brought-in’ by the fishing boats.

It’s a great place to explore - stroll through the labyrinth of narrow streets lined with cafes, antique shops and pick up a tasty pasty in one of the bakers to enjoy on the sandy beach. A wonderful destination with a great hotel for a lovely holiday.

DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point around 8.15/9.30am we have a brief comfort stop and a main stop for lunch before arriving at the hotel around 3.30pm. Settle in to the hotel and enjoy the views with a delicious and very welcome Cream Tea included in the price. During our stay there will be some evening entertainment.

DAY 2
After a full English breakfast, we head for Llanhydrock. Surely one of the very best National Trust destinations in the UK, this magnificent late Victorian country house is set in a huge estate in the middle of Cornwall. The interior is highly impressive, with 50 rooms open to visitors. Highlights include the carved ceiling in the Long Gallery, and the huge library. Follow the route through the house and over in to the servants and family rooms for a fascinating insight in to the Robartes family history. Outside, enjoy the formal gardens and take a look in the church which adjoins the house at the back. Usual excellent National Trust giftshop and catering facilities to enjoy. Includes entrance. Returning for free time in Looe. NT Member discount - £15

DAY 3
Totally free day today so enjoy a leisurely breakfast overlooking the town. You make like to step on a local bus to one of the villages nearby, maybe board the Looe Valley Line to Liskeard, head along the South West Coast Path or just relax around town. Lovely, lovely!

DAY 4
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and some free time before we depart on todays excursion. Beautifully located on the Lynher estuary, near Plymouth, Antony House & Gardens is an excellent destination. The house is still home to the Carew Pole family and with its striking silver grey stone, is one of the finest Queen Anne buildings in the West Country. Discover the story of a family who became caught up in the extraordinary events of the English Civil War. View the outstanding collection of portraits, including works by Sir Joshua Reynolds and a famous painting of Charles I during his trial. There are also fine examples of period furniture, textiles and tapestries. Explore the landscape garden, which includes a formal garden with topiary, modern sculptures and the National Collection of Daylilies. You may recognise Antony from Tim Burton’s blockbuster, Alice in Wonderland. Tea room available or you may like to bring a picnic to eat in the grounds. We have also included entrance to the adjacent Antony Woodland Garden. Described as one of Cornwall's hidden gems - beautifully situated on the Lynher with amazing plants and wildlife. Entrance included to both venues.

DAY 5

We leave the hotel after breakfast and have a stop for lunch before arriving back to your local drop off point around 3.30/4.30pm.
