Famous for its long sandy beaches, level promenade and colourful pier, Paignton lies on England’s beautiful English Riviera on Devon’s southern coast. The long and flat seafront esplanade offers lovely views across Torbay with leisure facilities for the visitor. The town has some lovely public gardens and good shopping with an abundance of cafes and restaurants. Paignton lies on the fantastic South West Coast Path with a chance to enjoy a coastal stroll. Plenty of lovely excursion destinations in the area.

DAY 1
Departing your local pick-up point in the morning (approx. 8.30/9.30am), we travel to Paignton stopping for lunch in Bridport/West Bay or Otter Nurseries before arriving at the hotel mid afternoon with time to relax in the hotel before dinner followed by entertainment.
DAY 2
Memorable day today and one of the highlights of this short break as we head to Dartmouth. From the quayside we board one of the river cruise boats - usually the historic paddle steamer Kingswear Castle, for a lovely cruise along the River Dart. Its a circular cruise from Dartmouth sailing the lower part of the river, viewing the castles at the estuary, Britannia Royal Naval College and towards Agatha Christie's Greenway Estate. Price included in your holiday - a lovely addition to your day out. Full commentary is provided. Followed by free time to explore this wonderfully historic town.
DAY 3
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with the rest of the day at free. Relax and enjoy the atmosphere and grounds of the hotel or maybe take a stroll along the clifftop or down in to town.
DAY 4
Excursion to Buckland Abbey. A wonderful National Trust property, Buckland has 700 years of history but is perhaps most famously linked with one of England’s most famous seafarers, Sir Francis Drake. The Abbey is part museum, part house, and filled with treasures such as the legendary Drake’s Drum. Surrounded by meadows, orchards, woodlands and lovely gardens. Entrance included. National Trust member discount - £10. Returning for free time at the hotel.
DAY 5
We head home with a lunch stop on the way. Arriving back in the local area around 3.30/4.30pm.

A grand building, originally the home of Issac Merrit Singer, the inventor of the Singer sewing machine, the elegant Palace Hotel occupies a prime seafront location near the pier on the level esplanade and a short walk to the shopping area. Beautifully decorated spacious public areas including a stylish restaurant with a wonderful outlook across the bay where you will be served a delicious evening meal with choice of menu. Other facilities include a leisure centre with large indoor swimming pool. All 54 bedrooms are comfortably furnished with en-suite bathrooms and have colour TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making. Lift.
