Following reunification in 1989 when the infamous Wall fell, Berlin has been on a massive rebuilding programme adding cutting edge architecture to its iconic landmarks - a wonderful city to discover. The city has always been a melting pot of culture and art and has evolved in to one of the most exciting destinations in Europe with world famous museums, superb shopping, cafes and restaurants.

With so many attractions and landmarks to enjoy we have, of course, included a full tour of the city with a local tour guide but have also include two excursions out of the city to see some more of Germany. Our 4 star hotel is centrally located, on Alexanderplatz with plenty of attractions, shopping, restaurants and bars in the immediate area plus easy access to the superb public transport system. With so much to see it is difficult to list all the must see venues and attractions but these include the Reichstag, already an iconic building with a glass dome and spiral walkway; Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Television Tower which is just down the street from the hotel and Gendarmenmarkt - a stunning square surrounded by impressive architecture and exclusive shops. Charlottenburg Palace is located just outside of the city centre, but is stunning and well worth a visit, Berlin Cathedral is magnificent, or head to Museum Island - a UNESCO world heritage site with a choice of important museum.

DAY 1
After being collected from your convenient local pick up point around 5.30/7.00am we travel to our hotel in Liege, via the short 75 minute short Dover to Calais ferry crossing. Our coaches are top quality and offer a very comfortable travelling experience and we have regular comfort stops along the way for a relaxing journey. Arriving late afternoon at the excellent Park Inn by Radisson Liege Airport. Superb quality hotel from this premium brand with a comfortable modern style - excellent for an overnight stay. Dinner included tonight - 3 courses with a choice of menu. 

DAY 2
After a good nights sleep and a hot & cold breakfast we re-board the coach and head in to Germany. Sit back, relax and enjoying the changing scenery with or normal regular comfort breaks before arriving at our Berlin hotel late afternoon. Settle in to your room, enjoy the ambience of this modern hotel or head out and explore the locale. Dinner will be served in the main restaurant - 3 courses with choice of menu for the duration of our stay. 

DAY 3
Fantastic first day in the city, so have a full breakfast before we will be joined by our tour guide for a full tour of the sights. Great way to get your bearings and check the places you may want to return to later.

DAY 4
A complete day at leisure today to enjoy Berlin. So grab your guidebook and head out there!

DAY 5
Wonderful day today as we leave Berlin and head south to the remarkable city of Dresden. Joined by our tour guide, we explore this beautiful city which has been painstakingly restored from destruction in World War II and years of neglect when it was behind the Iron Curtain. Dresden is once again one of Europe's greatest Baroque cities. Standing majestically on the River Elbe, it was the seat of the Saxon rulers, who lavished their attention on its riverside palaces and soaring churches, and left the city with a breathtaking skyline and a vast collections of art and antiquities. Highlights include the Frauenkirche, the Dresden Royal Palace which has a remarkable art collection,  Zwinger and Old Masters Picture Gallery, Semper Opera and Theaterplatz - the list goes on and on. Fantastic destination.

DAY 6
Fantastic excursion today with a short journey out to the historic city of Potsdam, the capital of the state of Brandenburg.  One of Germany's most famous former imperial cities, Potsdam is famous for its beautiful parks and lakes and its old Prussian Rococo palaces. We shall be joined by a local guide to make the best of the day and learn the fascinating history of the town. Sanssouci Park is vast and home to many exquisite gardens, impressive buildings, artworks, and walking trails. We have included entrance to Fredrick the Great's stunning Sanssouci Palace, a single-story, domed Rococo building built in 1745. So much to see here - a wonderful experience.

DAY 7
After breakfast we begin the journey home. Again, sit back and relax in the comfort of our modern touring coaches and enjoy the views along the way as we head back to Liege in Belgium. Comfort stops along the way including an extended stop for lunch before arriving back at the Park Inn by Radisson Liege Airport. Dinner included tonight - choice of menu.

DAY 8
Still more to see as we continue our journey through Belgium and in to France to board the early afternoon ferry from Calais to Dover. Continuing home and arriving back in the local area around 7.30/8.30pm.

This superb 4* hotel is the tallest hotel in Berlin and offers spectacular views over the cityscape. Located in one of the best areas for a visiting tourist, directly on Alexanderplatz Square, and within walking distance of some lovely attractions with Museum Island and the lively Hackescher Markt both within a 10 minute walk away. Straight forward for exploring the rest of the city sights with bus, tram and underground all on the doorstep.
