Blessed with a balmy climate and famous for its palm trees, it's easy to see why Torquay has attracted visitors since Victorian times. There is stunning scenery along the coast road and historic towns are dotted throughout the region. The traditional harbour and stylish Princess Pier marina area offer the town a continental atmosphere, with a growing selection of eateries to sample. Stroll along the attractive waterfront esplanade to the new Abbey Crescent leisure development and enjoy a drink overlooking Torbay. It is certainly worth exploring the newly refurbished Illuminated Royal Terrace Gardens with wonderful views from the top.
DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point around 8.30/9.45am we have comfort stops as required before arriving at the hotel mid afternoon. Settle in to your room and maybe take a stroll before dinner. Relax in the lounge bar after or stroll in to town.
DAY 2
After breakfast we head off for today's excursion. Powderham Castle is beautifully located in a unique, picturesque setting beside the Exe estuary. Six hundred years of history are contained within the walls of one of England's oldest family homes. The Estate has remained in the same family to this day and is currently home to the 18th Earl & Countess of Devon. We have included a fascinating guided tour of the interior and allow plenty of time to explore the lovely gardens and parkland. Enjoy the wonderful views and wildlife around the estate including farmyard animals and hopefully you will spot the 600 Fallow deer that stroll around the grounds. For lunch, head to the Courtenay Café which offers a range of light lunches, refreshments, and delicious cream teas. Entrance fee included.
DAY 3
A relaxing day today. Free for you to explore the town on your own. Stroll in to town - the seafront is a 15 minute walk away - or just hop on the bus outside the hotel. Subject to availability, the hotel will arrange for an optional trip to the highly regarded Babbacombe Theatre for the evening show - extra charge for those who want to go.
DAY 4
Memorable day today as we head for Dartmouth. After enjoying time exploring this delightful historic town and finding somewhere nice for lunch, rendezvous back at the quayside where we board one of the excellent river cruise boats. Special cruise today as we head upstream, enjoying the picturesque, lush scenery of the South Hams, looking out for the river wildlife on this 90 minute journey to Totnes. A highlight of your holiday away. Free time follows in this historic and quirky market town. There is always a great atmosphere around the place, they do things differently here - proper Devon pace! Enjoy the historic buildings, a range of unique independent shops and some great places for a cup of tea. Boat fare included. Please note this day may swap around - subject to tides!
DAY 5
We head home with a stop for lunch before arriving back to your local drop off point around 3.00pm.

Situated in a tree lined road with a mix of hotels, guest houses and residential properties the hotel is only a 15 minute walk to the seafront and town centre. It is one of the most popular areas of Torquay with visitors. Directly outside the hotel there is a bus stop if you want to explore the area independently.
The Nethway is a 25 bedroom hotel offering clean, comfortable accommodation and public areas including a lounge & bar. Set in its own gardens, the hotel enjoys lovely views over Torquay town to Torbay. In the warmer months you can enjoy a drink outside and there is even an outdoor pool (for when its warmer!) On 5 day breaks there will be 2 nights of evening entertainment!
All bedrooms are comfortable with en-suite bathroom - mix of Shower only/ Shower over bath and bath only. Please check when booking. Other facilities - TV, tea/coffee making, hairdryer and WiFi. There is no lift at the hotel - only 3 storey, some ground floor rooms available. Porterage included.
The food at the hotel is a good standard - home cooked & fresh. Start the day with a full English breakfast served at the table - buffet table for Cereals and tea & coffee. Dinner is 3 courses with a choice of 3 options per course.
