Come and discover a beautiful area of the country on our 5 day holiday to Tiverton in the heart of Devon.

This popular holiday has a lovely selection of excursions to enjoy whilst staying in a comfortable hotel with easy access to the centre of town. The town’s position on two rivers has brought the  town wealth over the years leaving a legacy including a romantic castle and the idyllic Grand Western Canal. Within easy distance there is a wealth of attractions for the visitor and we have included entrance to some of the best. Wherever you go you will always be surrounded by the lovely Heart of Devon scenery. 

DAY 1
Collected from your local pick up point around 8.30/9.30am, sit back, relax and enjoy the lovely Dorset and Devon countryside on route to Tiverton. Main stop for lunch on route and arriving at the hotel mid-afternoon - time to settle in to the hotel or take a stroll before dinner.

DAY 2 
Fun excursion today as we head for the excellent Sheppy’s House of Cider  where we have included a tour of the farm with a walk in the orchards, a visit to one of the vat houses, the press house and much more including (of course) a tasting! Great excursion destination. After we continue in to the centre of historic Taunton. - Nice town to discover with plenty of eateries for lunch. Returning to Tiverton for another highlight of the holiday as we board an authentic horse-drawn canal boat for a memorable 2 ½ hour trip along the Grand Western Canal. 

DAY 3
Enjoy a delicious full breakfast at the hotel before we board the coach for todays excursion - one of our favourites in the area. We head to Arlington Court, a delightful house set in extensive parkland with lovely gardens including peacocks! Time here to enjoy your surroundings including the excellent carriage museum - one of the largest collections in the country, see the inside of the house and enjoy the grounds. Excellent NT café too. NT Member discount -£12. Afterwards we head for the beautiful North Devon Coast as we visit the charming twin towns of Lynton & Lynmouth - linked by an historic water powered cliff railway. Plenty of time here to enjoy these unspoilt historic towns and soak in the atmosphere. We head back to the hotel with a scenic drive over Exmoor.

DAY 4
A lovely excursion today as we visit RHS Rosemoor. One of the showcase gardens of the RHS, Rosemoor spans over 65 acres, set in the beautiful Torridge Valley. There is something for everyone to enjoy with a wide range of different sections including Lady Anne’s original garden, the Arboretum, the cottage garden, Woodland Walks and much more including a large gift shop and excellent café. Includes entrance. RHS Member discount - £11. Leaving the gardens and enjoying a stop in the centre of Barnstaple - enjoy some time strolling the historic street.

DAY 5
We head home, stopping in the historic town of Wells for lunch before arriving back in the local area around 4.00pm.

3* Tiverton Hotel

We have been taking groups to this popular hotel for many, many years. With a quiet location, the hotel is only a 15 stroll in to the centre of Tiverton which has a selection of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. 

We always receive a warm welcome from the genuine staff who are here to help and good standards accommodation throughout the hotel. Set in mature grounds, this hotel has 69 bedrooms offering modern facilities and are a good size. Tiverton is a great location for exploring this beautiful area of England with easy access to the main roads. Head to the cosy lounge bar, where you can enjoy a good selection of coffees or alcoholic drinks and discuss the days events.

Many of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor, noted for their spacious  size and have modern en suite bathrooms, television, phone and tea/coffee making facilities. No lift at the hotel but ground floor rooms available. The comfortable restaurant serves a delicious full cooked breakfast and in the evening a three-course carvery menu - plenty of choice followed with coffee. Porterage is included within the rate.
