Blessed with natural beauty, this region has always been a popular destination. We are delighted to be returning to the superb 3* Northfield Hotel, set in a quiet residential area of Minehead, just a stone’s throw from the seafront. The Northfield is part of the Providence Hospitality Group which also own the Headlands, Palace and Queens Hotel on the English Riviera – excellent quality hotels. 

Set on the edge of Exmoor, Minehead has an attractive town centre with public gardens, plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. The beautiful South West Coast Path starts in the town, so plenty of walking opportunities but the location lends itself to some excellent excursion destinations.

DAY 1
Departing your local pick-up point in the morning (approx. 8.30 to 9.45am), we travel to the Somerset coast stopping for lunch on route and arriving at the hotel mid afternoon with time to relax in the hotel before dinner. Plenty of lovely countryside to enjoy on the way.

DAY 2
Enjoy a lovely full breakfast in the restaurant before we board the coach for a great day out - enjoying some wonderful scenery along the way. Heading West and up on to Exmoor National Park before arriving at the twin coastal towns of Lynmouth & Lynton. Lynmouth has rows of charming fishing cottages and shops around the pretty harbour whilst the Victorian village of Lynton is perched high above. The towns are connected by the Cliff Railway, the highest and steepest fully water powered Victorian railway in the World! Time here to enjoy both places before we continue with a drive along the coast and absolutely spectacular panoramic views across the Bristol channel to Wales. Continuing on to Barnstaple - the largest town in North Devon with an amazing history and traditional Pannier Market. Free time here before returning to the hotel. 

DAY 3
Lovely excursion today with a visit to the historic village of Dunster & Dunster Castle. This fantastic NT property sits high with panoramic views over the Bristol Channel.  The castle has existed here since at least Norman times, with an impressive medieval gatehouse, ruined tower and wonderful sub-tropical gardens. Entrance included. NT Member discount - £11

DAY 4
Bathe in nostalgia today as we head to Weston-super-Mare. A classic English seaside resort complete with long promenade and  the Grand Pier. Almost 2 miles of beach and the town centre with independent shops, cafes and bars close by. 

DAY 5

We head home with an extended lunch stop on the way. Arriving back in the local area around 3.30/4.30pm.

Set in lovely lawned gardens with sea glimpses from some of the public areas, the hotel has a great location – just a short stroll to the seafront, with the quaint Quay area of Minehead only a short stroll away. The town centre shops, cafes and restaurants located on the attractive Parade are only a 10 minute stroll away. Facilities around the hotel include a heated indoor swimming pool and outside there are lovely terraces where you can enjoy a drink as well as plenty of indoor areas to relax and enjoy your surroundings. 

All bedrooms are well appointed and comfortably furnished with en-suite bath or shower, digital TV, tea facilities, complimentary Wi-Fi and bottled water. Room upgrades are available offering larger room sizes and benefitting from better views. The restaurant is spread over three areas with a relaxed atmosphere. For breakfast enjoy delving into a full hot buffet to set you up for the day whilst in the evening we have included a 3 course dinner with choice of menu – served at the table. The hotel serves a traditional unpretentious British menu of excellent quality.
