In a county of unspoiled rolling green hills we discover the timeless, lost atmosphere of Shropshire, where the towns and villages are perfectly preserved historic treasures and the crafts and traditions have not changed over the centuries. 

Once the birthplace of Britain's imperial domination and industrial invention, Shropshire remains a living archive of that era, attracting visitors from around the world. The World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Gorge, with the first ever great cast iron bridge, is a magnificent, perfectly preserved industrial attraction. But there is so much more to discover on this holiday - views of the beautiful Shropshire Hills, a stunning ANOB and a fun heritage railway journey. This tour is based on the outskirts of Telford in the excellent 4* Telford Hotel & Golf - a Q Hotel.

DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point (approx 7.30/8.45am) we have comfort stops including a main stop for lunch on route before arriving at the hotel mid/late afternoon with time to relax or enjoy the extensive leisure facilities of the hotel.

DAY 2
Wonderful excursion today as we head for historic Shrewsbury on the River Severn. Famously the birthplace of Charles Darwin and surrounded by the beautiful Shropshire countryside and the Welsh Borders, Shrewsbury is one of England’s finest medieval market towns with over 600 listed buildings. Step back in time along the cobbled streets lined with traditional half timbered houses. Lovely selection of independent shops and a wide variety of eateries for every palate. We have also included a leisurely 40 minute river cruise for a unique perspective of the town. Great day out.    

DAY 3
Enjoy a lovely breakfast at the hotel before todays excursion. Special day as we head to Bridgnorth to board the splendid Severn Valley Railway for a heritage train ride through the countryside and passing through rejuvenated stations on route. After arriving in Kidderminster, the coach will meet you and head for Ludlow. Famed for its historic timber framed buildings, plenty of time here to enjoy the atmosphere and find somewhere lovely for lunch. We continue with a scenic drive back to the hotel through the Shropshire Hills. 

DAY 4
After breakfast we head for the nearby Blists Hill Victorian Town. This superb attraction is part of the 10 different museums throughout the spectacular Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, which celebrate and explore the influence of the discoveries made in this region. So step back in time at this fascinating living Victorian town where you can chat with the locals in their shops as they bake bread and much, much more. Entrance included. After we drop in at Ironbridge town with a chance to stroll around and see the famous bridge.

DAY 5
We depart the hotel after breakfast and head home, again with suitable comfort stops before returning to the local area around 4.00/5.00pm.
