We are delighted to be returning to The Peak District - a wonderful area to explore. In 1951, the Peak District was the first of Britain’s 15 national parks and covers 555 square miles in the heart of England and reaching into five counties: Derbyshire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Yorkshire and Greater Manchester. The Peak District is made up of impressive gritstone edges, steep limestone dales and rolling hills and farmland criss-crossed with dry stone walling. This beautiful, dramatic landscape not only offers magnificent scenery, charming towns and villages and superb historic houses, but also has a rich industrial heritage. A hugely popular destination for our customers with some wonderful excursion destinations. We shall be joined by our superb local guide for a fantastic day out exploring, an extended visit to the magnificent Chatsworth House Estate and a day exploring the fascinating industrial heritage of the region. Wonderful English Holiday.

DAY 2
Enjoy a full breakfast at the hotel and look forward to a great day out. We head into the park with our first stop at the fascinating Cromford Mills.  Part of the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of the modern factory system, Cromford was the world's first water-powered cotton spinning mill, developed by Richard Arkwright in 1771 and is now a fascinating museum site. We have included a 1 1/2 hour Mill Tour and Arkwright Experience. A glimpse into a forgotten world. Afterwards we stop in the centre of Matlock Bath with a chance for lunch. In the afternoon we head to the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway in Wirksworth, the longest heritage train line in Derbyshire. Revel in the nostalgia as we have included a journey on one of the heritage locomotives through the picturesque countryside. Wonderful way to finish the day.

DAY 3
Excursion to one of the best country estates in Britain - Chatsworth House. The magnificent House and Capability Brown landscaped gardens are truly impressive with over 30 rooms to explore, from the magnificent Painted Hall, to the family-used chapel, regal State Rooms, newly restored Sketch Galleries and beautiful Sculpture Gallery. The 105 acre garden provides plenty to discover including the famous 300 year old Cascade and enormous Emperor fountain. (Entrance included).
