Sometimes you overlook things right on your doorstep! Tourists come from all over the country to visit the Isle of Wight - it has a unique blend of coastline from stunning cliffs to beautiful beaches, whilst inland the countryside is a patchwork of farmland, woodland and heathland dotted with timeless villages. There is a diverse range of resorts for the visitor to explore and enjoy. For this special break we are staying in the largest, Sandown. Sandown is a traditional British Seaside Resort with a wide sandy beach, long level promenade and pier. 

For this great value holiday we are returning to the newly refurbished Burlington Hotel which includes some evening entertainment - great value and great fun!!

DAY 1
Leaving your local pick-up point around 9.30/10.45 in the morning, we head to Lymington and board the ferry to Yarmouth. After disembarking we will arrive in Newport, the Island's Capital for a lunch break - plenty of places to choose from. Continuing to arrive at the hotel in Sandown with good time to relax and settle in before dinner.

DAY 2
A free day at leisure today! Relax around the town and head for the seafront or why not hop on the bus and head along to adjacent Shanklin which has a charming old village section. 

DAY 3
Enjoy a full breakfast at the hotel before we head off to to Ventnor Botanical Gardens. Surrounded by the chalk downs of the Ventnor Undercliff, this unique warm microclimate allows the garden to boast an impressive collection of rare and exotic plants normally considered too tender for the UK. Native plants from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan and many more grow here including half-hardy and hardy Puya. In addition to the outdoor space, there is a large Tropical House with some of the biggest specimens of Giant Amazonian Waterlilies in the world. The leaves of these giant varieties can grow over 8 feet across. Lovely place to spend some time on a Sunday morning! Entrance price included. Afterwards we re-board the coach for the short journey to The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is set over 55 acres, has free entry with a gift shop and a cafe. Donations will be gratefully received for the upkeep of this excellent facillity which gives a forever-home for over 100 donkeys. popular destination

DAY 4
We leave the hotel after breakfast and enjoy a scenic route back to Yarmouth where we join the ferry back to Lymington. Arriving back in the local area early afternoon.

Looking forward to returning to the newly refurbished Burlington Hotel which has 70 ensuite rooms. The hotel sits in prime location in Sandown, just a 2 minute walk to the seafront so you can make the most of your free time to explore the town and beach before returning to the comfort of the hotel.
With a new, clean, modern decor throughout  - all meals are served in the stylish dining room. In the morning, choose from a Traditional English or Continental Breakfast whilst in the evening, enjoy a varied menu which caters to all dietary requirements. 

After dinner head for the Lounge Bar to relax in comfort and there will also be some Live Entertainment during our stay.
