Enjoy a special break away at this wonderful quality hotel - The Moorland Hotel on Dartmoor National Park. Owned and operated by the same owners of the outstanding 4* Belgrave Sands Hotel in Torquay, the Moorland occupies a wonderful rural location. We include some great excursions out with plenty of interest or you may choose to just sit back and relax in the comfortable surroundings. The hotel is literally ‘on’ Dartmoor, so bring your walking shoes and head out for a stroll on The Moor. Hay Tor is only a 20 minute walk from the hotel with wonderful views over this iconic landscape. Return to the hotel to relax with a drink in the stylish bar. If you like upmarket food – we have you covered! The Moorland is renowned for its superb evening cuisine set in the lovely, stylish restaurant. Limited places!

DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point around 8.30/9.30am, we have refreshment stops as required before arriving at the hotel late afternoon. Settle into your comfortable surroundings and enjoy the views before a delicious 3 course dinner! During our stay at the hotel there will be some live entertainment including a live pianist!  

DAY 2
Memorable day today as we head for Dartmouth. After enjoying time exploring this delightful historic town and finding somewhere nice for lunch, rendezvous back at the quayside where we board one of the excellent river cruise boats. Special cruise today as we head upstream, enjoying the picturesque, lush scenery of the South Hams, looking out for the river wildlife on this 90 minute journey to Totnes. A highlight of your holiday away. Free time follows in this historic and quirky market town. There is always a great atmosphere around the place, they do things differently here - proper Devon pace! Enjoy the historic buildings, a range of unique independent shops and some great places for a cup of tea.

DAY 3
After a hearty breakfast we will be joined by our excellent local guide who will explore the history and landscape of the dramatic Dartmoor National Park. Always a very popular day out for our customers with plenty of stories and a stop for lunch during the day. Returning for free time in the hotel.

DAY 4
After breakfast we head off for today's excursion. Powderham Castle is beautifully located in a unique, picturesque setting beside the Exe estuary. Six hundred years of history are contained within the walls of one of England's oldest family homes. The Estate has remained in the same family to this day and is currently home to the 18th Earl & Countess of Devon. We have included a fascinating guided tour of the interior and allow plenty of time to explore the lovely gardens and parkland. Enjoy the wonderful views and wildlife around the estate including farmyard animals and hopefully you will spot the 600 Fallow deer that stroll around the grounds. For lunch, head to the Courtenay Café which offers a range of light lunches, refreshments, and delicious cream teas. Entrance fee included.

DAY 5
We head home this morning, with refreshment stops as required before arriving back in the local area around 3.00pm.

Absolutely stunning. Since being taken over by the owners of the superb Belgrave Sands Hotel in Torquay, the hotel has undergone a multi million pound refurbishment bringing the same modern style and facilities. Beautifully located on Dartmoor, not far from the famous Hound Tor the hotel is set in 11 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland. For the energetic, you are literally on Dartmoor as soon as you step out - great for country walks with spectacular views. Great to know you’ll be returning to a comfortable, quality hotel.

The hotel has recently been awarded 4 stars by the AA with a rosette for it’s fine dining - there is a choice of menu with lovely views from the restaurant. The hotel also offers evening entertainment. All the hotel bedrooms are comfortably furnished with modern en-suite bathrooms, TV, hair dryer, WiFi and tea/coffee making facilities.
