Blessed with natural beauty, this region has always been a popular destination. We are delighted to have secured accommodation at the superb 3* Northfield Hotel, set in a quiet residential area of Minehead, just a stone’s throw from the seafront. The Northfield is part of the Providence Hospitality Group which also own the Headlands, Palace and Queens Hotel on the English Riviera – excellent quality hotels. Very well received on previous visits!

Set on the edge of Exmoor, Minehead has an attractive town centre with public gardens, plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. The beautiful South West Coast Path starts in the town, so plenty of walking opportunities.

DAY 1

Departing your local pick-up point in the morning (approx. 8.30 to 9.30am), we travel to the Somerset coast stopping for lunch on route and arriving at the hotel mid afternoon with time to relax in the hotel before dinner. Plenty of lovely countryside on the way.

DAY 2
After breakfast enjoy lovely countryside as we visit the charming town of Lynton – head on down to Lynmouth on the water powered cliff railway. Plenty of time here to enjoy these unspoilt historic towns and soak in the clifftop views – stunning. On our way back to the hotel we stop and have included a trip on the Lynton & Barnstaple narrow gauge railway which travels above the wonderful Heddon Valley. Perfect end to the day!

DAY 3
A memorable day out as we are joined by our excellent local guide for a day out exploring the North Devon coast and the beautiful landscape of Exmoor National Park. So much to see with various stops during the day as we learn of the remarkable history of the area.

DAY 4
Lovely excursion today with a visit to Dunster Castle. This fantastic NT property sits high with panoramic views over the Bristol Channel.  The castle has existed here since at least Norman times, with an impressive medieval gatehouse, ruined tower and wonderful sub-tropical gardens. Entrance included. NT Member discount - £11

DAY 5
We head home with an extended lunch stop on the way. Arriving back in the local area around 3.30/4.30pm.

Set in lovely lawned gardens with sea glimpses from some of the public areas, the hotel has a great location – just a short stroll to the seafront, with the quaint Quay area of Minehead only a short stroll away. The town centre shops, cafes and restaurants located on the attractive Parade are only a 10 minute stroll away. Facilities around the hotel include a heated indoor swimming pool and outside there are lovely terraces where you can enjoy a drink as well as plenty of indoor areas to relax and enjoy your surroundings. 

All bedrooms are well appointed and comfortably furnished with en-suite bath or shower, digital TV, tea facilities, complimentary Wi-Fi and bottled water. The restaurant is spread over three areas with a relaxed atmosphere. For breakfast enjoy delving into a full hot buffet to set you up for the day whilst in the evening we have included a 3 course dinner with choice of menu – served at the table. The hotel serves a traditional unpretentious British menu of excellent quality.
