Encircled by two miles of Roman and Medieval walls, Chester is one of England’s historical gems and has proved to be a very popular destination with our customers.
Situated on the River Dee, close to the Welsh border, Chester has 2000 years of history and is one of Britain’s Heritage Cities with a compact city centre easy to explore on foot. The itinerary for this holiday has always proved popular with our customer and for 2021 we have tweaked the days to add a little extra! This terrific holiday includes a full day in Chester, a lovely day round the charming town of Llangollen with a lovely extended horse drawn canal trip plus a visit to the rejuvenated and highly recommended waterfront area in Liverpool. Great fun!

Today we have a memorable day out in the charming Welsh town of Llangollen. Famous as the closest town to Thomas Telford’s engineering marvel, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. We first board a modern purpose-built canal boat for a 2 hour horse drawn cruise to the remarkable Horseshoe Falls on the River Dee. This is possibly the most beautiful length of canal you will ever see and the horse drawn trip is definitely the most peaceful and relaxing way to see it. Afterwards, free time in Llangollen. Find somewhere nice for lunch and soak in the heritage of this charming town. After, we head on to the Trevor Basin - site of the famous aqueduct. Lovely day out. Canal boat trip included.
Excellent excursion today as we are joined by a knowledgeable local guide for a tour of the city of Liverpool. Over recent years the city centre and waterfront have been transformed into a stylish modern metropolis, whilst celebrating the cultural heritage which inspired the city’s achievements. We explore the city centre and waterfront including the Albert Dock, packed with attractions, stylish shops and cafes.
We head home with comfort stops before arriving back to your local drop off point around 5.00pm
