Join us on this fantastic 10 day holiday as we tour through beautiful landscape visiting various destinations along the way. With so much to see over a large area, Scotland lends itself to a multi-hotel tour so we travel from place to place and see as much as possible.

During the holiday you will experience the beautiful Western Highlands including a visit to Inverewe Gardens, Loch Lomond, Fort William & Loch Ness, up to Ullapool on the North West coast and the Falls of Shin in Sutherland. No tour of Scotland would be complete without some time in Edinburgh but there is also so much more included!

During the holiday we stay in good quality, welcoming hotels throughout and with reasonable travel times during the day just sit back, relax and let Scotland soak in. We are sure you will want to return!

DAY 1

After being collected from your local pick up point around 8.00am, sit back and relax as we travel north to our overnight hotel – the BW Plus Samlesbury Hotel near Preston. 4* Quality modern hotel with excellent facilities for a comfortable stay. 3 course evening meal included with choice of menu and tea/coffee. Porterage included.


DAY 2

Enjoyable day travelling as we head into Scotland and see the landscape changing on our way to our hotel located in the town of Drymen close to the mighty Loch Lomond.

The Winnock Hotel – Our base for 2 nights - A warm welcome awaits at this family run 3 star hotel located on the green in the village of Drymen. All the comfortable bedrooms in this 18th-century building feature en suite bathrooms with bath and/or shower, tea & coffee making facilities and TV with satellite channels. Relax in the bar before or after dinner – which is a 3 course meal served in the Capercaillie Function Room with choice of menu followed by tea/coffee. No lift but ground floor rooms available. Porterage included


DAY 3 - Edinburgh
After a full cooked breakfast, we head for Edinburgh which is about 1 ½ hours away - passing Stirling and The Kelpies on route. Steeped in history, the compact capital of Scotland is a great day out. With a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town, there are parks and gardens dotted around the centre. Looming over the city is Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels. Head to the famous Calton Hill, topped with monuments and memorials, for a panoramic view of the city.


DAY 4 - Loch Lomond, Fort William & Loch Ness
This morning we set off north via Loch Lomond to Fort William, in the shadow of magnificent Ben Nevis. We spend time in this famous town before continuing our highland adventure,  leading to the mystical shores of Loch Ness, home of the fabled monster 'Nessie'. We stop at the Loch Ness Centre near Urquhart Castle for a comfort break and photos before continuing our journey northwards through spectacular scenery to our highland home, Ullapool.

The Royal Hotel – Our base for 3 nights - Beautifully situated on the outskirts of the fishing village of Ullapool, the hotel enjoys fantastic views over Loch Broom and the surrounding Highlands. With your free time, take a stroll to the waterside – sit and view the ferries heading off for the Outer Hebrides or enjoy a drink in one of the pubs or cafes. Relax in a sofa in one of the casual lounge areas around the hotel or head to the Waterfront Bar to enjoy a drink with a view! Dinner with a 3 course choice of menu is served in the Ballroom followed by tea and coffee. The renovated, contemporary bedrooms are fully equipped with ensuite facilities (some bath – all have walk in shower) and offer hospitality trays with tea and coffee, TV, telephone and free WiFi. No lift but bedrooms on ground floor or 1st floor. Porterage included.


DAY 5 - Ullapool
We enjoy a day at leisure in the picturesque fishing town of Ullapool, gateway to the Northern Highlands, nestled on the shores of Loch Broom. The natural beauty of this area has to be seen to be believed and the attractions in this quaint village include the Ullapool museum or one of the many boat trips offering tours around the surrounding waters - individual booking in advance advised.


DAY 6 - West Highlands & Inverewe Gardens
This morning we set off for a scenic tour of the west coast. 

Heading west from Garve we travel via Loch Maree to Gairloch for a comfort stop at the harbour of this little fishing village, continuing north to the award-winning botanical Inverewe Gardens full of amazing flora not normally seen in the UK.  Finally, we follow the route of the famous North Coast 500 along the coast back to Ullapool, marvelling at the rugged landscape which changes dramatically from turn to turn.


DAY 7 - Falls of Shin & Inverness
Today, we depart Ullapool and head south again making our first stop at the wonderful Falls of Shin and Visitor Centre, one of the best known sights in the area. Although not particularly high the falls have great power and salmon can often be seen attempting to leap them in the summer. We then move south to the popular destination of Inverness, where we spend some time at leisure exploring before continuing our journey through the Cairngorms National Park to Perth.

Salutation Hotel – Our base for 2 nights -  Situated in the heart of the city of Perth, it's ideally located to enjoy any free time. Thought to be one of Scotland's oldest hotels the hotel is full of character and decorated in a traditional style thoughtout with modern comforts. Head down to Reids Bar for a drink including a selection of local whiskies. All bedrooms have been refurbished and offer en-suite bedrooms with hospitality tray, telephone, hairdryer and TV. Free Wi-Fi in public areas. In the morning there is an extensive hot and cold buffet breakfast and in the evening - enjoy a three course dinner with choice of menu, featuring Scottish fayre Followed by tea or coffee. Passenger lift. Porterage included.


DAY 8 - Scone Palace & Blackwatch Museum
We enjoy our final day in splendid Perthshire with a morning visit to Black Watch Castle & Museum in Perth. Located on one of Perth’s most beautiful parks, the North Inch, the museum  castle dates back to the 1600s and tells the story of Scotland's elite military regiment. We have free time for lunch here or in Perth city, before enjoying a guided tour at magnificent Scone Palace, once the crowning place of the kings of Scotland.


DAY 9
We start the journey home, but still plenty of scenery to enjoy on route. We make a stop at The Kelpies – the stunning giant horse head sculptures before taking a break for lunch.  Arriving back at our overnight hotel – BW Plus Samlesbury Hotel near Preston. 4* Quality modern hotel with excellent facilities for a comfortable stay. 3 course evening meal included with choice of menu and tea/coffee. Porterage included.


DAY 10
After a full English breakfast, we continue the journey home with comfort stops on route before returning to the local area around 5.00pm.
