Spring is a lovely time to visit Cornwall as the county is the first to awaken from the cold of Winter and the gardens and hedgerows offer a burst of colour. We are delighted to be returning to the excellent 3* Hannafore Point Hotel. High on the clifftop, the hotel offers some of the best ocean views in the South West.
Staying in the very heart of Cornish life in the historic fishing port of Looe on Cornwall’s amazing south coast. There is a lovely atmosphere around this charismatic town where you can ‘feel’ the history. There’s a bustling harbour where you can watch the catch being ‘brought-in’ by the fishing boats and pleasure boats potter along the river. It’s a great place to explore - stroll through the labyrinth of narrow streets lined with cafes, antique shops and pick up a tasty pasty or bag of chips to enjoy on the beach. A wonderful destination – one of our favourites.
DAY 1
After being collected from your local pick up point - approx 8.00/9.00am) we have a comfort and main stop for lunch before arriving at the hotel late afternoon.Relax in the Lounge and enjoy the views before dinner. Subject to minimum numbers there will be a Roast Carvery dinner tonight!
DAYS 2 to 3
Tour Itineraries for 2021
As of November 2020, we are very confident that the current situation will improve vastly in the coming months. As you know, we pride ourselves on our interesting holiday itineraries. We also pride ourselves in operating our holidays as close to the advertised itinerary as possible so as such, do not want to guarantee excursion destinations which may not be available. So for some of the 2021 holidays we are leaving the itineraries open to change – these will be confirmed closer to departure when we are sure destinations are okay. Within the current holiday details, we will offer a list of probable destinations some of which will be included in your holiday. We cannot guarantee that all destinations listed will be included in the final itinerary. Pricing for 2021 – as we are unable to guarantee specific destinations, we have not included entrance fees or train/ferry fees (where applicable). When the final itinerary details are confirmed, there will be an additional charge to include these fees - payable by you before your holiday departs. For most holidays these should be a modest amount. Please be assured that we are absolutely committed to making your holiday the best it can be. If you need any clarification on this matter, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Options -
- A day at leisure today. Plenty of options for things to do around the town or you can enjoy the hospitality of the hotel. For the active, you may like to take a walk along the South West Coast Path and get away from it all or you can head down in to town – maybe find a special gift, find a nice restaurant, pub or just a bag of chips on the beach!
- Lovely excursion today as we head along the coast to nearby Fowey. It is a 10 minute walk down a hill in to the town from our drop off point but Fowey is well worth the effort! A lovely, traditional Cornish town with narrow streets, charming shops and pubs and a lovely outlook over the Fowey Estuary – one of the most beautiful in the South West. Due to the topography, today may not be suitable for all. Returning for free time before a final evening dinner.
- A very popular destination with our customers, Falmouth lies on the south coast of Cornwall on the River Fal. With the deepest natural harbour anywhere in Western Europe, Falmouth has a remarkable maritime history going back to Sir Walter Raleigh and beyond. The town has sandy beaches, spectacular scenery and the region’s mild climate provides exotic sub-tropical gardens around the town. The centre has an abundance of art and antique shops, cafes and restaurants and the award-winning National Maritime Museum is also located in the town.
- Enjoy a full English breakfast before we head for Trewithen Gardens. Renowned as one of the best Spring gardens in the country and set around an elegant 17th century manor house, Trewithen offers an amazing variety of trees with woodland walks. Spring brings a riot of colour, with early flowering Magnolias, Rhododendrons and Camellias.
DAY 5
After breakfast we head home. Stopping for lunch before arriving back in the local area and returned to the local area around 3.30/4.30pm.
