Looe & The Eden Project - Fri 24th May 2019
- Duration: 4 Days
- Product code: PHED5Z
Superb holiday staying in the very heart of Cornish life in Looe and with excursions discovering the beautiful countryside, towns and people of the region. The historic fishing Port of Looe on Cornwall’s south coast is amazing - you can ‘feel’ the history of the town centred around the bustling harbour where you can watch the catch being ‘brought-in’ by the fishing boats.
It’s a great place to explore - stroll through the labyrinth of narrow streets lined with cafes, antique shops and pick up a tasty pasty in one of the bakers to enjoy on the sandy beach.
A wonderful destination with a great hotel for a lovely holiday.
After being collected from your local pick up point around 9.00am we have a brief comfort stop and a main stop for lunch before arriving at the hotel around 4.00pm. During our stay there will be some evening entertainment.
Mid-morning we depart for the picture postcard fishing village of Polperro with plenty of time to explore, and find somewhere nice for lunch. Returning to Looe for an afternoon relaxing around the hotel, exploring the town or venture further afield along the South West Coast Path.
After breakfast we have an optional excursion to one of the biggest attractions in the county. When the Eden Project opened in March 2001 it provided a massive boost to the county – by June that year over a million people had been! Eden barely needs an introduction, its a dramatic global garden housed in tropical biomes that nestle in a crater the size of 30 football pitches. Over the years the landscape has matured – time to go back and experience the sights, smells and scale of the rainforests in the Rainforest Biome - the world's largest greenhouse, walk amongst the orange and lemon trees and olive groves of the Mediterranean Biome, and in the 30-acre Outdoor Garden see hemp, sunflowers and other plants, flourishing under the Cornish sun.
Extra cost for this excursion including entrance – Over 60 £12.00, Adult £15.00
We leave the hotel after breakfast and have a stop for lunch before arriving back to your local drop off point around 3.30/4.30pm.
