Blessed with a balmy climate and famous for its palm trees, it's easy to see why Torquay has attracted visitors since Victorian times. There is stunning scenery along the coast road and historic towns are dotted throughout the region.
Torquay was the birthplace of Agatha Christie with many of her novels drawing inspiration from the town and local landscape. The traditional harbour and stylish Princess Pier marina area offer the town a continental atmosphere, with a growing selection of eateries to sample. Stroll along the attractive waterfront esplanade to the new Abbey Sands leisure development and enjoy al fresco dining or a drink overlooking Torbay. It is certainly worth exploring the newly refurbished Illuminated Royal Terrace Gardens with wonderful views from the top.
Delighted to be returning to one of our most consistently highly rated hotels – the Headland Hotel.
After being collected from your local pick up point (approx 8.30/9.30am) we have refreshment stops as required before arriving at the hotel mid-afternoon. Time to settle in and perhaps take a stroll before dinner. Evening entertainment every night of your stay.
In the morning we head along the coast to Brixham. This authentic fishing port, home to the famous Brixham Trawler, oozes history and its fun to stroll around. Returning to Torquay early afternoon with free time for you to relax in the hotel or explore the town.
Excursion to Dartmouth. Discover wonderful countryside before we arrive in this beautiful historic town. So much to see here with narrow streets lined with interesting shops, galleries, restaurants and pubs or you may like to take a boat trip along the river.
We head home in the morning and have a stop for lunch on route before arriving back in the local area around 3.00/4.00pm.
