Torquay - Beautiful South Devon - Fri 12th October 2018
- Duration: 4 Days
- Product code: PKP8FB
Come along and join one of our breaks to one of Britain’s favourite holiday destinations - on the English Riviera.
Blessed with a balmy climate and famous for it's palm trees, it's easy to see why Torquay has attracted visitors since Victorian times. There is stunning scenery along the coast road and historic towns are dotted throughout the region. Torquay was the birthplace of Agatha Christie with many of her novels drawing inspiration from the town and local landscape. The traditional harbour and stylish Princess Pier marina area offer the town a continental atmosphere, with a growing selection of eateries to sample. Stroll along the attractive waterfront esplanade to the new Abbey Sands leisure development and enjoy al fresco dining or a drink overlooking Torbay. It is certainly worth exploring the newly refurbished Illuminated Royal Terrace Gardens with wonderful views from the top.
After being collected from your local pick up point around 8.30/9.30am we have a comfort stop on route and a break for lunch before arriving at the hotel mid afternoon.
Excursion to Dartmouth. Discover wonderful countryside before we arrive in this beautiful historic town. So much to see here with narrow streets lined with interesting shops, galleries, restaurants and pubs or you may like to take a boat trip along the river.
In the morning we head off for an excursion along the edge of Dartmoor to Plymouth. We will be joined by a local guide for a coach tour which will include Plymouth Hoe, Devonport Naval Dockyard, Brunel’s magnificent Royal Albert Bridge and the Barbican area before free time in the city centre.
We head home in the morning and have a stop for lunch on route before arriving back in the local area around 3.00/4.00pm.
